At IDEX2023, the Kalashnikov Concern showed new armor for BMP-3, which includes adaptations we've seen in Ukraine, including 4S24 side armor, added armor under Kontakt-5 ERA blocks, and Nakidka counter-thermal coats.

Just to emphasize again that Russian offensives depend heavily on these units to lead them and seize Ukrainian positions. If they sustain losses, it will take time to reconstitute them. Other units likely either lack the competency or motivation/cohesion to do so effectively.

@Blake_Allen13 I don't know the exact figure, but they are still producing T-90M, T-72B3M, and T-80BVM (though the latter two have different sights now). Probably enough for assault units, but not enough for the entire force.

What does this mean for the long-term table of organization and equipment for the Russian military? Not sure, but the weakness of Russian motorized rifle formations has made this change a necessity. I would assume VDV and naval infantry units will be even better armed afterwards.

This is an issue for Ukraine, too. They also rely on mobilized soldiers and don't have the opportunity to have entire battalions/brigades go through training evolutions. I would assume Ukraine will also provide their best units with the best equipment for the future offensives.

@am_misfit @POTUS @SecDef @NATO That would be amazing. But US doesn't even let HIMARS/M270 GMLRS be used without restrictions
I hope US gives ATACMS because that's what's truly needed as it can hit everything on Ukrainian territory and everything in Crimea, including Sevastopol and the Crimean Bridge

1.7 km east of Zhytlivka in a vast forest, two RuAF BM-21 Grad MLRS are located firing at 49.090666, 38.222218. They've probably moved on by now. Still I guess the area is target rich - many Ru films are likely filmed in this forest.
