@GarethJennings3 One doesn't have to reinvent the wheel for giving Western fighters to Ukraine. A lot of things have been tried in the past, so one should look for opportunities, not obstacles.

What, IMO, speaks in favor of the F-16 over other planes are the sheer numbers available.

@pmakela1 I wonder why people tend to see obstacles, not opportunities, in the discussion on fighters for Ukraine.

A lot of thinking, and practice, has been done on operating modern jets under wartime conditions.

A large naval component, with the Baltic and Northern Fleets does come to mind.
