Regarding the SVCh Chukavin, Lobaev questions whether it makes sense if it is chambered in 7.62x54/51mm since it would have been cheaper to modernize SVD. He suggests that its adoption was related to lobbying and that finding 338 LM rounds is a problem.

On April 8th 1940, the Polish submarine ORP Orzeł which was commissioned OTD 1939, sank the German troop carrying merchant ship Rio de Janeiro off Lillesand.
Rescued survivors told local police that they were due to land in Bergen the next day, 9th. Noone acted on this info.
