Also, if there was a plan to include Belarusian forces, it would make sense to elevate the overall commander to Gerasimov.

@shashj @RALee85 Sure, you have one person (Surovikin) to take responsibility for hard decisions (Ie Kherson) and the other to lead the new offensive (Gerasimov), while raising the stakes for the military leadership.

But this is just my speculative “makes sense” take.
