Kupyansk-Soledar
The AFU repulsed attacks in the area of Hryanykivka and Stel'makhivka. No significant change, but I saw rumors about AFU making some progress in the Stel'makhivka direction. Regarding Kreminna, no news is good news, this means RU are defending and not attacking.

Bakhmut N
The AFU repulsed attacks around Spirne, Rozdolivka, Vesele and Bakhmut. The situation in Soledar is still unclear, but it think it's likely RU forces control about 75% of it.

Soledar it self is not very important, but RU need to take it to be able to cut the UA supply route to the north. The interesting part if Soledar is lost will be to see if Ukraine can hold the Paraskoviivka, Krasna Hora and Krasnopolivka line.

Even if both sides have heavy losses in the Bakhmut area, the Russians are wasting an enormous amount of combat potential in this area. They claim they are using Wagner prisoners, but I'm fairly certain they also use VDV.

RU MoD declared they captured Pidhorodne. I believe this is technically true, I don't think Ukraine tried to hold it, but instead are holding the heights north and south of it. The village it self is not a good position to hold.

Bakhmut S
The AFU repulsed attacks around Klishchiivka and Mayorsk. Klishchiivka is the door stop south of Bakhmut, similar to Soledar in the north. RU need to take it (and the fortified heights west of it) in order to actually do a serious attempt at Bakhmut.

As you can see the fortified area west of Klishchiivka (top of image) is most likely more important than the village. This is a google image from 2018 so I'm not revealing any secrets. Considering it was built over 5 years ago, it's probably very well fortified.

Donetsk
The AFU repulsed attacks in the area of Vodyane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Prechistivka. Everyone is focusing on Soledar, especially they Russians since this is the greatest achievement by them since June. That means not a lot of info is coming out of Donetsk.

Great news. Turkey is providing Ukraine with 155mm cluster munition. These are great for the static warfare in Ukraine.

@ColbyBadhwar:
🚨 Turkey has been supplying Ukraine with 155mm Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions since late 2022! The M483A1 or M864 are the specific artillery rounds that are likely being provided.

More great news. Poland are the first to announce sending western tanks to Ukraine. I'm sure more are to come.

RT @DefMon3: Ukraine update🧵 January 11th
This thread is brought to you by NATO encircling Russia. I have figured it out. After a long time watching Geroman I figured out everything is plausible if the arrows are big enough.

It would be helpful if you like and retweet this tweet. https://twitter.com/DefMon3/status/1613248727053135872/photo/1

RT @jackryan212: @DefMon3 Scott ritters attack on NAFO was repelled as well. He was seen fleeing in this van…the other side has a Z on it. https://twitter.com/jackryan212/status/1613249848970469378/photo/1

A good thread by Mark. I think it is important to ask why this change is happening now. If Putin thinks Gerasimov will improve the Russian military's performance, why didn't he appoint him sooner? Russian C2 seems to have improved under Surovikin.

@MarkGaleotti:
Putin's decision to appoint Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov as new overall commander of Ukraine op is significant. A quick thread 1/

Thread by @MassDara. She's always worth listening to on these subjects.
-----------
@MassDara:
Today Shoygu and Gerasimov demoted Surovikin, and put Gerasimov in charge of the operation in Ukraine, demoting their most competent senior commander and replacing him with an incompetent one. This is a story that has it all: infighting, power struggles, jealousy /1 https://t.co/yrhLN6qUwN
