As most of you know, AFU targeted a school with reportedly 600 RU soldiers. The latest count I saw was 71 dead, but they are still working on the site.

Unconfirmed: I received info from a local on 2 suspected🇺🇦strikes on Arabatska Spit (links Crimea) + Pryozerne on night 01-2 Jan. The latter was rumoured intercepted by AD, but a huge explosion (suspected ammo) was herd on the Spit. Reportedly no Ru TV/radio since in Henichesk. https://t.co/RT4Z19SBcJ

As the link shows, the 104th GAAD existed until 1998, before being downsized to a brigade and renamed the 31st. Now the circle is completed.

The other new VDV Division, the 44th Airborne is also a resurrected Soviet formation.
It existed as the 44th Airborne Training Division from 1960 to 1987, before being renamed 242nd Training Center for the Training of Junior Specialists (Airborne Troops). Current home is Omsk.
