@napoleon21st Many Russian and Ukrainian troops have died. But Ukrainian losses are mostly from the first half of the war and in contested places like Bakhmut.

If Ukraine recently lost a substantial amount of forces they wouldn’t retake so much land and would be losing lots of land to Russia

@napoleon21st Do you mean ran away? They were building up defenses in those areas for months all for it to collapse within a couple days. These are major military losses. If Russia losses all Ukrainian territory they captured would you say that they simply walked away? The reality is they lost

They even did referendums and set up their own governments and wasted a ton of resources making supply routes to there

@napoleon21st I know people in several towns that were taken away in the Kherson offensive, and they entered when all Russian troops left and there were no large Ukrainian Losses. Russia basically completely vacated those towns.

Ukraine did 3 successful offenses since August. And has lost nothing in the past five months

If Ukraine didn’t attack Kherson before winter Russia could’ve strengthened its defenses during the winter

@FranzMendelsso1 In this case, Ukraine is not losing much because liberating land Russian soldiers are running away from doesn’t inflict as much losses as taking land Russians are defending well

In addition to that Kherson City is separated by the Dnipro River making it almost impossible to lose

@FranzMendelsso1 Ukraine has great logistics now or else they wouldn’t be winning so much land back and defending every village successfully

Logistics is why Russia hasn’t been successful in this war, most of their main supply routes have either been destroyed or are under Ukrainian fire control

@FranzMendelsso1 Logistics is also the reason why those new weapons given to Ukraine had such a big effect on the war. Like HIMARS which has destroyed Russian bases, supply routes, and ammunition stockpiles
