One of the points I tried to make in my article about tanks is that the footage we see of this war is not necessarily representative of how it is being fought. We are more likely to see footage of ATGM and artillery strikes (from UAV), than tank-on-tank combat, mine strikes, etc.

@jon_jeckell:
Theory on why we see so few videos of tank vs tank battles in Ukraine when both sides have so many.

Because if you have an ISR asset that can record the battle, you would chose to strike with artillery or another fires asset rather than drive into a “fair fight”

Russian media published photos of Russian military in allegedly Iranian helmets and bulletproof vests. Also about a week ago, photos of allegedly Iranian bulletproof vest seized from the Russians also appeared (photo-4)

Of course, a video of a tank exploding is more likely to go viral on social media than a mundane video of tanks performing their roles as expected. That's why it is important to note that we are not seeing the full picture of this war, and we need to only draw tentative lessons.

@Dumbnickel @JohnB_Schneider I believe the washing machine number is bloated, there is no way they care that much about hygiene.

@David_Hambling There are videos, but I think much of the tank-on-tank combat in this war occurred in the first month when fewer people had UAVs to record the fighting.
