1. The damage to Ukrainian infrastructure.
2. Sustaining Ukrainian air-defences

Ukraine is a big country, many potential targets, lots of ground to cover.

Western supplied systems are unlikely to be able to replace the Buk's and S-300s one-on-one.

Therefore it is vital to help Ukraine sustain their legacy systems, keeping them in the fight.
