@rudolf_renner It's not an amazing system. For researching it all day, I can tell you that it’ll not shoot down Russian Fighter Jets like Mig-29 and maybe destroyed by them.
It'll be used mainly for slow moving targets. It's very outdated. USA stopped using this systems for Stinger and Patriot.

@rudolf_renner This system was good at shooting down Russian Planes from the 1960s and the 1970s. It has locked onto a Mig-29 but never shot it down and then it was getting destroyed by newer planes. Most of the NATO countries that had this system retired it in the late 1990s and early 2000s.🇺🇦

@VictorishB123 I know I am well aware of that. Some people were confused I explained that to them. 1 standard launch from HIMARS is 1 pod with 6 Rockets, but in Ukraine they need to preserve Ammunition so maybe they’ll do one or two rockets per launch. But the cost of one rocket is not $62,000.

@VictorishB123 From what fiscal year? And what type of GMLRS rockets are they? because I have found a lot of sources that say it's more than 110,000 it could even go up to 170,000 per rocket.

@VictorishB123 Just to clarify technically we didn’t give Ukraine any money for rockets. We gave them rocketd we had in stock. Those rockets could’ve been made in 2012 or they could’ve been made in 2017. The price is different every single fiscal year, and sometimes its significantly different,

@VictorishB123 It could be higher today because of the demand. It all depends on the demand and the usage and the order numbers. Buying more rockets cost less money per rocket. The DoD may be putting a higher price and valuing it as an export so congress gives the more money to replace rockets.

Russians mobilized to fight in Ukraine are coming back in coffins. Relatives are asking why they were sent to the front so fast. Often, they’re told nothing at all. “All we have is a date and a place.” A possible inflection point at home in Russia’s war. https://t.co/VfbjwNYdDB

@VictorishB123 They cost about $160,000 in Fiscal Year 2022 as per Presidential Budget Request. GMLRS got significantly more expensive from previous years.

@VictorishB123 Yes I know but look at Javelins how few they ordered. Only 376 in 2022. We gave several thousands to Ukraine. Javelin production will sky rocket.

@VictorishB123 Then look at ATACMS how they stopped buying it in 2021 and started buying PRsM.

@bustymerc @rudolf_renner The Hawk is significantly worse than expected it to be. But it would be good for two things. Slow moving subsonic cruise missiles, and drones like Iranian Kamikaze Drones if the radar can see them.

@VictorishB123 Yes, I remember reading that. They maybe upgrading ATACMS for no one to use it. They should give it to Ukraine because they will be discarded.

@VictorishB123 They actually may already have GMLRS-ER. Because the Under Secretary of Defense said that Ukraine can hit Crimea with the Himars. Meaning they have at least 140 km either the new extended range version or the older versions can shoot further.
