Ukrainian Defense Intelligence says that the commander of Russia's West grouping, Lieutenant General Roman Berdnikov, has been replaced by Center group commander Alexander Lapin. Berdinkov reportedly replaced Lieutenant General Andrey Sychevoy on Aug 26.

The Russian military sometimes has an issue with clashes between different ethnic groups. I suspect this will become an even greater problem now. It will be interesting to see if they choose to form units with men from the same region or if they try to separate them.
