@DrRadchenko:
As images and videos emerge of the mobilisation efforts across Russia, a brief thread on who can be mobilised. Putin claimed in his statement that only those with military experience and those with technical professions will be mobilised. His decree, however, does not say this.

RT @tom_bullock_: more stories like this coming out, fairly interesting this is being shared by a fairly mainstream social media channel (400,000+ followers)

#Ukraine: Previously unseen and very rare footage of the moment of impact of two M31A1 GMRLS missiles fired from the HIMARS/M270 system hitting a Russian ammunition staging point in #Kharkiv Oblast. At least one vehicle is seen to be destroyed as the munitions detonate.

@BBCWillVernon:
A heartbreaking video showing mobilised Russian men leaving to go and fight in the war. You can hear a child crying "Daddy, goodbye, please come back!" I've spoken to several locals, including one who was there, the video is genuine. https://t.co/zKo5mYd4M7

#Ukraine: More drone-dropped munition and ATGM strikes from the SBU in #Zaporizhzhia Oblast- a BTR-80/82A APC is hit, as well as ammunition. We also see a Stugna-P ATGM strike against two Russian tanks hidden under a bridge.

This is an obvious point, but it is easier to mobilize before you've sustained heavy losses than afterwards. Particularly if you're fighting a war without clear goals and employing an unclear strategy to achieve those unclear goals.

Video today from an Ulan-Ude (Buryatia, in Russia's far east) news outlet showing reservists waiting for a bus that will take them onward towards Ukraine.
"All day, buses have driven up here from different regions of the Republic of Buryatia"

I think Jack was right regarding the timing. As with everything in this war, Russia decision-making has focused on short-term solutions without a long-term understanding of how they could end this war on their terms. They now have fewer options.

@Jack_Watling:
@RALee85 @PatPorter76 Mobilisation was a really dangerous possibility (most dangerous COA) back in April. They missed the decision point.
