Armenia made a similar decision to build underground bunkers after the 2020 Karabakh War. Going underground is an obvious solution to counter a side with greater air power or fires. Many of the adaptations in modern warfare are actually just a return to previous practices.

#Ukraine: A 3-pointer from a Ukrainian drone dropping an adapted M430A1 HEDP 40x53mm grenade right into the hatch of a T-72B3 obr. 2016 tank causing a deadly ammo cookoff.
Another T-73B3, which had collided with a truck, was hit too but wasn't damaged due to reactive armor.

@ChameleonPro1 I don't think they plan to do a mass cross here any more - Izyum bridgehead has been contained for now and they other crisis and priorities elsewhere. Just raids + support for a single light brigade covering the whole west forest front line. But yes opportunities remain here IMO.
