The first day of the 38th Annual Congress of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia (CSE) has been successfully completed at Kotebe University of Education.
The Congress was warmly welcomed by Dr. Solomon Mehretie, President of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia. The event was then officially opened by Dr Teshome Nekatibeb, President of Kotebe University of Education, who expressed appreciation for hosting this important national scientific gathering.
The day featured engaging and insightful plenary lectures delivered by distinguished speakers, followed by three oral presentations showcasing current research and emerging scientific contributions. The sessions sparked meaningful discussions and active participation from attendees.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all speakers, presenters, sponsors participants, and organizers who contributed to making the first day a success.

On April 8, 2026, Emeritus Professor Thewodros Solomon generously donated several scientific books to the Department of Chemistry. The books were formally handed over to the Head of the Department, Dr. Mekonnen Abebayehu.
The donated books cover a range of important areas of chemistry. These books will support the department's academic and research activities and are expected to benefit staff members, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
