“Some events end with applause, but the memories, friendships, tears, and lessons we shared through Together We Remember 2026 will echo in our hearts forever.”
---
And just like that, Together We Remember 2026 has come to an end. Yet even though the program is over, the memories, emotions, laughter, tears, and lessons we shared together will forever stay alive in our hearts. This was never simply an event. It became a journey — a journey of remembrance, humanity, friendship, healing, and family.
From the exhibition “Consent Denied: Reflecting on the Legacy of Forced Marriage and Sexual Violence”, to the screening of Meeting with Pol Pot, the emotional panel discussion, and our educational field trip to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, every single moment carried meaning. Every conversation, every reflection, every silent emotion, and every shared experience reminded us why remembrance matters and why the stories of the past must continue to be told.
To all members of the CSEAS family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for every sleepless night, every stressful preparation, every late reply in the group chat, every decoration, every setup, every rehearsal, every problem solved together, and every sacrifice made to ensure this program became meaningful and successful. Behind every beautiful photo and every successful event were countless moments of hard work, exhaustion, pressure, and emotion that only we truly understand.
But through all of that, we stayed together. We laughed together, worried together, worked together, and supported one another like a family. Some moments made us smile proudly, while some moments made us emotional and speechless. And now, all of those moments have become precious memories — memories that can never be replaced and will never be forgotten.
To everyone who joined us throughout Together We Remember 2026 — thank you for your presence, your reflections, your emotions, and your support. You helped create a space filled with compassion, understanding, and humanity. Because of all of you, this program became more than what we imagined.
We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), Bophana Center, Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and everyone who supported the CSEAS in making every activity run smoothly and meaningfully.
These memories will stay with us forever.

As this chapter closes, we hope this is not goodbye, but simply the end of one beautiful chapter before another begins. We hope the CSEAS family will return again with stronger bonds, greater dreams, the same loving members, and many new members ready to grow together with us. No matter where life takes us in the future, we hope our friendship will never fade and that the memories we created together will always remain in our hearts.
To every CSEAS member, may your future shine brightly like Moonshine in the darkest sky. May you achieve academic success, personal happiness, strength during difficult times, and success throughout your life journey. May all of us continue to grow, inspire others, and carry forward the values of remembrance, truth, justice, and humanity.
And finally, with hearts full of gratitude and hope, we look forward to Together We Remember 2027. Until then, thank you for everything, CSEAS family.
These memories will stay with us forever.

Friendships and Memories,
From surviving deadlines, sleep deprivation, and “I’ll do it tomorrow” energy… the CSEAS family finally escaped for a healing summer trip.
Our visit to Preah Reach Troap Mountain was honestly the reset button we all needed after months of hard work and emotional damage from university life.
Sometimes healing is not therapy… sometimes it’s just traveling with your favorite people, eating snacks, and bullying each other for fun 🤝😂
Thank you CSEAS family for making this trip so meaningful and fun.

We laughing at the most random things, explored, survived the mountain stairs, and somehow became even louder in public. But beyond the chaos, this trip gave us peace, happiness, and memories that will stay with us forever ✨. Plus, this trip became more than just an outing. It became a memory we’ll carry forever 🫶.

Remembering with Purpose: Why We Revisit Painful Histories
Last month, on 20 May, Cambodia observed the National Remembrance Day to honor the victims and survivors of the Khmer Rouge regime.
As Cambodianess argued in an editorial published on 24 May 2026, the National Remembrance Day carries "a universal message of mass crime prevention" that extends well beyond Cambodia's borders – one that places a shared responsibility on the international community to learn from Cambodia's experience and reinforce safeguards against totalitarian abuses.
