On May 16, 2024, Mr. Adisu Worku, the MOH NCD Eye Care focal person, along with the CBM Eye Health Program Officer and CE senior management team, visited the Cheshire Ethiopia Menagesha Rehabilitation Center. The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into the overall eye care services provided and validate the Advocacy and Community awareness guidelines.
He was warmly welcomed by the SMT and MRC management, followed by a visit to the eye care unit and other rehabilitation service provision units.
Finally, he shared his impressions and discussed how the MOH will make these guidelines that the stakeholders working on eye care will be using in the future.

Inclusive eye care services at Cheshire Ethiopia Menagesha eye care unit
Araso Nataha Guluma, 27 years old, is from the Oromia Regional State, South West Shoa Zone. He underwent an amputation a year ago due to an electrical accident. He visited our center to receive a rehabilitation service (bilateral prosthesis), but upon further assessment using the Washington short set of questions (WGSS), it was discovered that he needed eye health screening. He was then referred to the eye care unit for additional evaluation and was diagnosed with cataracts. Subsequently, he underwent cataract surgery which restored his vision.
አካታች የዓይን ህክምና አገልግሎት በቸሻየር ኢትዮጵያ መናገሻ ተሃድሶ ማዕከል
የ27 ዓመቱ አራሶ ናታሃ ጉሉማ ከኦሮሚያ ክልል ደቡብ ምዕራብ ሸዋ ዞን የመጣ ስሆን ከአንድ አመት በፊት በኤሌክትሪክ አደጋ ምክንያት ሁለት እግሮቹን ያጣ ወጣት ነው። ለደረሰበት አካል ጉዳት የሰው ሰራሽ አካል አገልግሎት ለመውሰድ ወደ ቸሻየር ኢትዮጵያ መናገሻ ተሃድሶ ማዕከል ይመጣል። በዚህ ወቅት የዓይን ጤና ምርመራ እንደሚያስፈልገው ከተለየ በኋላ ለተጨማሪ ምርመራ ወደ ዓይን ህክምና ክፍል ተልከው የዓይን ሞራ ግርዶሽ እንዳለበት ታወቀ። በመቀጠልም የዓይን ሞራ ግርዶሽ ቀዶ ጥገና ተደረገለት እይታውን መመለስ ተችሏል።

The primary objective of the workshop was to contribute to strengthening the national health system to provide Rehabilitation intervention through disability mainstreaming.
The participants included health administrators from various zones, cities, and sub-cities, hospital CEOs, and regional health bureau representatives.
The workshop concluded with a shared emphasis on the importance of disability mainstreaming, and to collaborate with Cheshire Ethiopia in efforts to enhance rehabilitation interventions.

የግንባታ ወጪው በአለም አቀፍ ቀይ መስቀል ኮሚቴ/ICRC የተሸፈነ ቢሆንም የግንባታው ወጪ ከታቀደው የገንዘብ መጠን ከፍ ያለ በመሆኑ ቀሪ ስራዎችን ለማጠናቀቅ ሁላችንም የበኩላችንን የገንዘብም ሆነ የአይነት ድጋፍ በማድረግ እንድናጠናቅቀው በድጋሚ ጥሪ እናቀርባለን።
ይህ የብዙ አካል ጉዳተኞችን ችግር የሚያቃልል የመኝታ አገልግሎት መስጫ የግንባታ ስራ ተጠናቆ አገልግሎት መስጠት እንዲችል የበኩላችሁን አሻራ እንድታሳርፉ እንጠይቃለን!!!!!!!!!
