Classic stuff always wins.

So, back in the day—like early 1900s—there were these two French brothers, André and Édouard Michelin. They owned a tire company (yup, that Michelin). Cars weren’t super common yet, and people didn’t drive that much, so the brothers were like, “Hey, let’s make a guidebook to get people to hit the road more.” The guide had stuff like maps, how to change a tire, gas stations… and also places to eat and sleep.

Fast forward a bit—they realized people really cared about the food part. So they started hiring secret inspectors to go around and rate restaurants. If a place was really good, they’d give it a star. Eventually, it became a whole thing:

1 star means “pretty good, worth stopping for”

2 stars means “really great, worth a detour”

3 stars? That’s like “yo, this is next-level, change your whole trip just to eat here.”


Now it's one of the biggest honors a restaurant can get. Chefs basically dream of getting a star—or freak out about losing one. And that’s how a tire company accidentally became the king of fancy food.

کلمه‌ی brainrot معمولاً در اینترنت و به‌خصوص در فضای غیررسمی استفاده می‌شه. به فارسی می‌تونیم بگیم:

"پوسیدگی مغز"، "خراب شدن مغز"، یا "خیلی درگیر شدن با یه چیز به‌طور بیمارگونه"
مثلاً وقتی کسی زیاد یه سریال یا شخصیت خاصی رو می‌بینه و دیگه نمی‌تونه از ذهنش بندازتش بیرون.

حالا ۵ تا جمله‌ی انگلیسی با این کلمه:

1. Ever since I started watching that show, I’ve had complete brainrot over the main character.


2. TikTok gave me brainrot, I can’t stop quoting random audios.


3. This meme lives in my head rent-free—pure brainrot at this point.


4. I think I’ve got brainrot from scrolling through Twitter all day.


5. My brainrot for this band is so bad, I listen to their songs 24/7.

Memory is a funny thing. When I was in the scene I hardly paid it any attention. I never stopped to think of it as something that would make a lasting impression, certainly never imagined that 18 years later I would recall it in such detail. I didn't give a damn about the scenery that day. I was thinking about myself. I was thinking about the beautiful girl walking next to me. I was thinking about the two of us together, and then about myself again. I was at that age, that time of life when every sight, every feeling, every thought came back, like a boomerang, to me. And worse, I was in love. Love with complications. Scenery was the last thing on my mind.

حافظه چیز عجیبیه. اون موقعی که توی اون صحنه بودم، خیلی بهش توجه نکردم. اصلاً فکر نمی‌کردم اون لحظه قراره یه خاطره موندگار بشه، چه برسه به اینکه بعد از هجده سال با این همه جزئیات یادم بیاد. اون روز اصلاً به منظره اهمیت نمی‌دادم. فقط به خودم فکر می‌کردم. به اون دختر زیبایی که کنارم راه می‌رفت فکر می‌کردم. به "ما دو نفر" فکر می‌کردم... و دوباره به خودم. توی اون سن و اون دوره از زندگی بودم که هر چیزی، هر حسی، هر فکری، عین بومرنگ برمی‌گشت سمت خودم. بدتر از همه این‌که عاشق شده بودم. عاشقی با کلی دردسر. منظره آخرین چیزی بود که بهش فکر می‌کردم.

Stalingrad, man… it was hell on Earth.
Back in WWII, around 1942-43, the Nazis thought they could just roll up on the Soviet city of Stalingrad and take it like it was nothing. But nah, the Soviets were like, “Not today, Hitler.”
So boom—months of brutal street fighting. Like, we’re talkin’ dudes shootin' from windows, hiding in basements, freezing their butts off, barely eating. It was ugly.
The Germans got cocky, got trapped, and winter hit 'em hard. Long story short? The Soviets clapped back hard. Germans lost over 300,000 troops. Total nightmare.


Moral of the story? Don’t mess with Russia in winter.
Especially not in a city named after Stalin.😄
