Roads Authority Lifts Embargo on Tsehay Insurance Following 4.7m Br Settlement
The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) has lifted a ban on Tsehay Insurance S.C. preventing it from issuing advance payment and performance guarantee bonds for contractors ERA hires.
The move comes after the insurance firm paid a settlement of 4.7 million Br to the Authority for an advance payment guarantee bond it had issued to Akir Construction more than seven years ago.

Berbera-Togochale Road Project Nears Completion
85 percent of the construction of the cross-boundary road project which links Somaliland's port city of Berbera with Ethiopia's border town of Togochale has been completed.
The road is expected to make Somaliland an emerging competitor, along with Djibouti and Kenya, in attracting Ethiopian importers and exporters. The completion of the road is also expected to boost the trade volume between Ethiopia and Somaliland by 30 percent.
The 234-kilometer highway road project, which consists of three phases, is planned to be completed by the end of 2022.

እነዚህ የቤቱን ዋጋ ሙሉ በሙሉ ክፍያ የከፈሉ ተበዳዮች ኖህ ሪል ስቴት ቤታቸውን በውሉ መሰረት ሳያስረክባችው በመቅረቱና ለሚጠይቁት ጥያቄ ተገቢውን ምላሽ ከኖህ ሪል ስቴት ባለማግኘታቸውና ለቤት ኪራይ ላለፉት አመታት ወጭ በማውጣታቸው ለተጨማሪ የኑሮ ጫና መዳረጋቸውን ተናግረዋል። ጉዳዩን ወደ ህግ ሊወስዱ መሆኑን አሳውቀዋል። ከኖህ ሪል ስቴት በጉዳዩ ላይ መልስ ለመስጠት ፍቃደኛ አልሆነም::

In recent years Ethiopian Construction become taken the lion's share in the Country's yearly budget. For more than a decade Ethiopia has passed through an intensive construction phase in Roads, bridges, buildings, and hydraulic structures. This creates good opportunities for the people in boosting MSE and lowering unemployment. Also, this accelerated construction phase created a new supply and demand in the construction material market. This created a high fluctuation of the market price. In recent, we have witnessed a skyrocket in the price of cement just within a month from 400birr/quintal to 750 birr/quintal. However, still, the factories' prices do not show a significant price increase it is just in the Addis Ababa market

Four Contractors are shortlisted for Cathedral renovation
The Authority for Research and Conservation of Cultural heritage shortlisted four Contractors for the renovation works of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church, a project which is expected to consume as high as 80 million Br.
It a renovation project that is expected to extend the time span of the cathedral without another major renovation by 50 years.
In a letter addressed to the Cathedral on December 27, 2021, the Authority suggested Varnero Construction, Misak General Construction, Planet Museum Activities & Preservation and Historic Site of Building, and Elmi Olindo Contractors Plc to be competitors in the renovation bid.

Berhan Bank issued the guarantee for 89.6 million Br the following February. The project had an estimated cost of 993 million Br and a three-year completion period. The ERA made two rounds of advance payments to the contractor for 46 million Br and 43 million Br in March and April 2019.
