Ground Heat Recovery for Radiant Floor Heating

One environmentally friendly and energy-efficient method for heating houses is to place a heat exchanger below the house. If the heat exchanger is at a sufficient depth underground, it will utilize subsurface heat.

Thermal Decomposition of Beta-Carotene in a Flow Reactor

The uncertainty quantification (UQ) functionality in the COMSOL® software can provide a better understanding of the impact of model uncertainty. As an example, check out this tutorial model of a flow reactor with thermal decomposition.

With this model, you can determine which uncertainties in the parameters dominate the survival of a nutrient during a food-processing step. The tutorial involves performing a screening study, sensitivity analysis, and reliability analysis.
