Most people scan a backtest card, see one number, and decide.

That number is profit. It's also the number that lies most often.

Pros read three things off a strategy card before they touch the launch button:

1. ROI, not raw profit.
ROI normalizes for time. A 10% return over 30 days is wildly different from 10% over a year. ROI makes them comparable.

2. Max Drawdown, not just upside.
This is the worst dip the strategy went through during the test. If you can't sit through that drawdown live, the upside doesn't matter. You'll exit at the bottom.

3. Duration of the test.
A strategy backtested over 30 days hasn't seen much. One that ran 180+ days has been through more market conditions. Sample size matters.

The Strategy Gallery shows all three on every card. Filter by drawdown ceiling first, then sort by ROI. That's the order pros use.
