Most traders pick the wrong order type. Here's how to pick the right one in 5 seconds:
🟢 No urgency → Limit, slightly above support if you're buying, slightly below resistance if you're selling. Never at round numbers. The crowd sits there and price turns just short.
🟢 Urgency → Market. Breakouts in motion and news events don't wait for your limit to fill.
🟢 Protecting the downside → Stop-Market, not Stop-Limit. In a gap, a Stop-Limit can blow past your price without filling. You stay in a losing position. Stop-Market guarantees the exit.
🟢 Taking profit → Limit at your target. Better: split across 2-3 targets and scale out as the trade works.
