Crypto prices don't just move on news. Sometimes they move because thousands of traders get liquidated at once.

What is a liquidation?
When a leveraged position loses too much value, the exchange force-closes it. That's a liquidation. Automatic.

Long squeeze
Price drops → longs liquidated → forced selling pushes price lower → more liquidations. A cascade.

Short squeeze
Price rises → shorts liquidated → forced buying pushes price higher → more liquidations. Same cascade, opposite direction.

Those sudden 10-20% moves? Often liquidation cascades, not fundamentals. Watching liquidation data (e.g., Coinglass) helps you spot when a squeeze is building.

How to protect yourself:

→ Always use stop-losses
