🤵 Aptos Adds Encrypted Mempool

Aptos Foundation says its encrypted mempool, AIP-144, is live on mainnet. Users encrypt transaction contents on-device. Block leaders order them without seeing the contents, while validators jointly decrypt and execute them after finalization, protecting against MEV bots that trade against users or copy strategies.

The feature is optional per transaction and encrypts only contents. Sender addresses and fees remain visible. Tests on 50 nodes showed about 20 ms of delay per block. Petra supports it, and Decibel plans private perpetual orders.

US authorities are reviewing whether Binance complied with its 2023 agreement worth $4.3 billion, amid a probe into possible sanctions violations involving Iran.

Investigators are checking whether the exchange knowingly allowed prohibited transactions. Confirmed violations could trigger renewed criminal prosecution and new multibillion-dollar penalties.
