one of the clearest scriptural endorsements of Catholic Integralism out of the whole Bible:
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD” (Psalm 33:12)

not only has the Lord not left us as orphans in his ascension into heaven, but now that He abides in heavenly glory, He can make Himself present far more intimately within us than He was to the Apostles during His public ministry
precisely in His transcendence can He abide in us with greater immanence

the reason why it’s easier to flip on ye24 than it is to flip on supporting trump is because trump is already the default front runner and has already earned a certain degree of our loyalty for spearheading the opposition to the current regime
so in order to buy into an alternative to trump, that alternative needs to rigorously meet certain criteria to justify that kind of a drastic change in allegiance, such as a) the power and influence necessary to launch a successful alternative resistance to the current regime and b) an exceptional level of commitment to the two issues that trump is weak on (namely, unabashed Christianity and principled opposition to Jewish power)
ye will always meet the first of these criteria, but if he can’t even maintain his commitment to Christianity (eg, the shameful and blasphemous YZY rave) and opposition to Jewish power after only a few months then he simply doesn’t have what it takes to be that alternative and likely never will

consent-based morality is a contradiction in terms
authentic morality merely consists of the universal obligation to cultivate virtue and avoid vice and to educate one’s conscience accordingly
of and by itself, “consent” adds nothing to moral calculation

one of the most corrosive influences on public discourse is the idea that matters of religion are categorically unable to be adjudicated by reason
it’s true that we’ve collectively lost the ability to maneuver through metaphysical disputes, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to do so
the foundations of liberalism can only be undermined if this idea is rejected

I think it’s a sign of providential care that sneako’s main stated concerns with Christianity have to do with the Incarnation and the Eucharist
these two doctrines cut to the core of what makes our faith distinctive and beautiful, so if he can have more of these discussions with a focus on these mysteries I think he would see how beautiful they really are and the only factors preventing his conversion would be essentially matters of lifestyle

extremely brief argument for Christianity:
if God is infinite, and if God loves His Creation, then He loves His Creation with an infinite love, and would want to bring about the closest possible union between Himself and His Creation.
Now humanity is unique in that it sums up the whole of Creation by sharing being with both realms of spirit and matter. Therefore, given the infinite Love of God, it stands to reason that God would want to unite Himself with our nature in particular so as to bring about this union, and in so doing, enable us as sharers of that nature to partake of this perfect union of Divinity and Creation. He accomplishes this in the Person of Jesus Christ and our Eucharistic participation in His Mystical Body, the Church.

the more one reads the psalms the clearer it becomes that loving God and loving His commandments are inseparable acts
in order to fully love God, it is not enough to externally abide by His commandments, but we must from within the depths of our own interior life truly and authentically love virtue and detest sin as God loves virtue and detests sin

“Like the light of the Sun, which permeates the atmosphere, spreading over land and sea, and yet is enjoyed by each person as though it were for him alone, so the Holy Spirit pours forth His grace in full measure, sufficient for all, and yet is present as though exclusive to each one who receives Him.“ - St. Basil the Great, On the Holy Spirit

It is by virtue of the perfect infinity of God that the threefold distinct relations by which He knows and loves Himself are not broken up into fragments that merely participate in God, but in themselves perfectly and equally bear the full character of the Divine Identity itself, which is why they are worshipped as distinct Persons of the Godhead

legitimately one of the most beautifully articulated monologues on the the uniqueness of Christianity’s approach to Divine Love that I’ve heard in a very long time

if Catholicism is just another denomination of Christianity why does every other Christian denomination define their distinctive identity in opposition to this or that element of Catholicism?

The Father and the Son so infinitely and completely love each other that the Love they give and receive is not merely a participation in Divinity, but is itself the fullness of Divine self-expression eternally given and received by each other, and is therefore no less a Divine Person than they are
