I am over 90% confident that the current synodal, liberal zeitgeist reigning in the Church right now is best interpreted as the last gasp of 1970s Catholicism and once that blows over it will only improve

libcaths are celebrating over the synodal direction of the Francis pontificate, but they’re really just hanging on to a class of 80-90 year old members of the Curia (with few notable, mostly American/German exceptions) who are just products of a bygone generational zeitgeist who happened to win the last papal election

If the Spirit did not proceed from the Father and the Son, then the Son would not be the perfect Image of the Father, because He would not receive from the Father all He has with the sole exception of paternity

when Christ likens Himself to the true Vine and instructs us all to “remain in Me”, that shouldn’t be interpreted merely metaphorically nor even just spiritually

through the Eucharist, we not only remain in Him spiritually, but abide in His very Body and Blood, really and substantially

In fact that’s the *only* way to fully abide in Him and Him in us

the Mass is that one unique moment when the distinction between the the mystical Body of Christ and the physical Body of Christ becomes in some sense blurred

It’s the definitive moment in which the one-flesh union between Christ and His Bride, the Church, becomes fully present and manifest

Just as the Eternal Word of the Father from all eternity was to take on human flesh, so the written Word was always meant to take on living flesh through the sacramental Life of the Church

The Sacraments (most notably the Sacrifice of the Mass), are the living embodiment of Sacred Scripture. They include countless references to Scripture while actually making present the very mysteries revealed to us through its sacred, inspired words.
