At a time when divorce rates are higher than ever, even within Muslim communities, it is worth reflecting on the reasons why. Often, it is not major issues, but small matters that are left unchecked until they grow into something much bigger.

This simple yet profound naṣīḥah from a noble Ṣaḥābī reminds us of a crucial principle: relationships are preserved through patience, understanding, and the willingness to support one another in moments of anger.

If this advice were truly practiced, many conflicts could be resolved before they even begin.

Do not forget this advice.

Nationalism is Ḥarām

Indeed, the righteous person is the one who worships and strives throughout the entire year. Be a full-time Muslim, not a part-time Muslim.

Wakīʿ said: We went out with Sufyān al-Thawrī on the day of ʿĪd. He said:

The first thing we will begin with on this day is lowering our gaze.

[Kitāb al-Waraʿ, p. 63]

If someone gives ṣadaqah using ḥarām wealth and expects a reward for it, this makes one a disbeliever. Learn your dīn properly and protect yourselves.

Sayyidunā ʿUmar al-Fārūq would get goosebumps when he saw any young man without a wife, because without marriage the likelihood of committing zinā increases greatly.

We have personally never met a non-Muslim, in real life, who has mocked the beard. However, we have encountered Muslims who have done so. May Allāh Taʿālā guide them.

One should not cut nails on Wednesdays. Do it on Fridays.

There are many Muslim-majority countries that we rarely hear about when it comes to politics. Take Indonesia, for example. The country with the largest Muslim population in the world.

What explains why these East and Southeast Asian countries don’t seem to engage in international political debates, such as speaking out on Palestine, in the way one might expect? It’s something we may never fully understand.

The last disciple who saw the Mujaddid of Islām, Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat al-Imām Aḥmad Riḍā Khān, with his own eyes, Syed Nadhar Ḥusayn Tirmidhī, has passed away at the age of 136.

About a century ago, Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat made him sit before him, placed his hands on his shoulders, and prayed for his long life, Subḥāna Llāh. Al-Fātiḥah!

Zinā (fornication/adultery) is a major sin. It has a lasting athar (effect), so think before taking that route. Guard your rūḥ (soul), and marry if you are able, for purity, and because what is ḥalāl is protection.
