why is it this bad?
(about fnaf 2)
on one hand, it’s hard not to feel a bit of excitement. we finally got a screen adaptation of a game series that actually meant something once. people were invested, digging into the lore. It wasn’t scary because of cheap jump scares, but because of atmosphere and the fear of the unknown.
the first movie felt like a cautious but functional start. rough around the edges, definitely not perfect, but watchable. you could at least tell the creators somewhat understood what they were handling.
the sequel gives the exact opposite impression.
this isn’t evolution — it’s straight-up regression.
watching it feels like being forced headfirst into a barrel of shit, where every new scene doesn’t build tension, it just gets on your nerves. the dialogue is so stupid that instead of empathizing with the characters, you start having an internal monologue about why every single one of them keeps making the most unhinged, brain-dead decisions possible…
