The Flexible Open Spanish
by Sipke Ernst
The Open Spanish is considered to be one of the soundest systems in modern opening theory. It remains a popular choice among superstars such as Mamedyarov, Caruana , So and Giri and was used in World Championship matches by Korchnoi and Anand.
The Open Spanish arises after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.O-O Nxe4. In this opening Black opts for active piece play and is not afraid to fight for the initiative from an early stage. One of the many good features of this opening is that Black is often the side which controls the pace of the game. Black can go for long forced variations that lead to sharp endgames or choose a slower game with more pieces on the board. Therefore, the Open Spanish is not only an excellent weapon against stronger players, but also gives plenty of scope for the outplaying of βlesser ratedββ opponents. This DVD offers a full repertoire for Black against 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 and gives you a great arsenal of ideas against all the topical lines.

I Was A Victim Of Bobby Fischer
By Mark Taimanov - 2021
In 1971 Robert James Fischer defeated Mark Taimanov by the sensational score of 6β0 in Vancouver, but the match games were far more competitive and tension-filled than the final score would suggest. Twenty years later Taimanov put pen to paper, reflecting on the experience. Exactly 50 years after the match, this is the first English translation of Taimanovβs original Russian text.

Psychology of Chess Tactics
by NM mn79
If A Brilliant Combination Stared You In The Face,
Would You Recognize It?
If you answered anything less than a firm and assured "yes," then let National Master mn79 unleash your hidden ability to find game-winning shots.
You may know NM mn79 as the fearless player, who brought us five-star repertoires versus the Sicilian. However, he's also a psychologist in the making, with a keen interest in learning science.
By combining his knack for chess and psychology, NM mn79 shows how you can...
Tear Down The Psychological Shackles That Hold You Back
And Unchain The Master Tactician In You
You won't find a massive collection of exercises to solve in The Psychology Of Chess Tactics.
Instead, the course looks into the self-sabotaging habits that hold back your progress. From reflexive thinking, mistaken assumptions, to "playing out the string."
But just as important, NM mn79 also gives you simple techniques for overcoming these mental shortcomings. So you can finally play the brilliant, tactical chess you're truly capable of.
Inside The Psychology Of Chess Tactics, you will learn about:
β‘ The right type of "wishful thinking" which helps you find winning masterstrokes - even in positions where everything seems defended.
β‘ Discover the generation effect and how it can skyrocket your learning and retention when studying chess.
β‘ A simple two-minute check that can save you from defeat or earn you the WIN before the opening is over.
β‘ How to lure the opponent into a seemingly innocuous sequence...so you can knock 'em out with a well-timed "sucker punch."
β‘ Why you should think twice before playing a tactic or combination, which looks all too familiar.
β‘ End all resistance by conquering forbidden squares. Oftentimes, the shock alone can make your opponent tap out.
β‘ Mask your brilliant plans behind routine-looking moves with non-routine intentions.
And many more!
NM mn79 also serves you 139 tactics exercises, which drive the lessons home and build your mastery of the techniques. So when play time comes, you're ready to blow the competition away with your newly-learned skills.

Opening Repertoire The Iron English by Richard Palliser and Simon Williams
(PDF + EPUB + MOBI + PGN + CBV)
Grandmaster Simon Williams was taught the English Opening at the age of six and 1.c4 was his weapon of choice until long after he became an International Master. For this new work, he teamed up with acclaimed theoretician International Master Richard Palliser to explore his old favourite. 1.c4 remains an excellent choice for the club and tournament player. This book focuses on the set-up popularised by the sixth world champion, Mikhail Botvinnik, the so-called Botvinnik formation with 2.Nc3, 3.g3, 4.Bg2, 5.e4 and 6.Nge2. This system is compact but still aggressive and rewards an understanding of plans and strategies rather than rote memorisation of moves. In Opening Repertoire: The Iron English leading chess authors Simon Williams and Richard Palliser guide the reader through the complexities of this dynamic variation and carves out a repertoire for White. They examine all aspects of this highly complex opening and provide the reader with well-researched, fresh, and innovative analysis. Each annotated game has valuable lessons on how to play the opening and contains instructive commentary on typical middlegame plans.

Bishop Versus Knight - The Eternal Battle, Volume 1 - Boroljub Zlatanovic
(PDF + EPUB + MOBI + PGN)
Bishop or knight? An eternal dilemma! The legendary Bobby Fischer would likely vote for the bishop. Other authorities like Nimzowitsch would prefer the knight. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Of course, it is clear a bishop usually dominates in open positions while the knight should be preferred in blocked positions. But what does that βusuallyβ mean? Are there exceptions? Sure, a bishop can dominate even in a blocked position if the controlled diagonal is important. Further, the knight can dominate in open positions if there is a good outpost or influential place for it. The pawn structure definitely determines the minor piecesβ prospects, and it is extremely important to predict the future properties of the pawn structure early in the game.
Nowadays it is not enough to start thinking about the endgame in the middlegame. Todayβs masters begin their opening strategy based on the arising endgames! Knowing the arising endings may give you some advantage even if the opponent obtained some initiative as was Petrosianβs manner. By studying this book you should discover many properties regarding the combat between the bishop and knight which will open new horizons in your chess understanding. In this book (Volume 1) I will present direct combat between the bishop and the knight. You may consider this a prelude to Volume 2 where the story will develop with more complex battles as other pieces will be added. There will be sections with rooks and queens added where either the knight or bishop will be superior. I have no doubts that if you carefully analyze the material in both volumes, you will master both the basic and advanced endgames where one of the key factors will be the material imbalance between having either the bishop or the knight.

World Champions Blunder
By GM Mykhaylo Oleksiyenko
Cutting-edge tactics training from a world-renowned coach and FIDE trainer.
This Course Turns You Into
A World Champion "Beater" And
Builds Up Your Point-Getting Tactical Play
If you dream of becoming that sharp chess player, who finds winning combinations even World Champions miss...then you'll love what Grandmaster Mykhaylo Oleksiyenko has prepared for you.
You already know GM Oleksiyenko.
He's a two-time Ukrainian chess champion and a former 2643-rated grandmaster, with plenty of super-GM scalps to his name.
Since 2011, however, he shifted to coaching and soon became a FIDE trainer...thanks to his wickedly effective teaching methods.
Serious players from around the world - including experienced grandmasters like Amin Bassem, Ahmed Adly, and Alexander Ipatov - turn to GM Oleksiyenko for his expert insights.
But you don't have to fall into a long line of would-be students to learn from the world-renowned coach, because...
In his second Chessable course, GM Oleksiyenko brings you the same world-class instruction he's known for. So you can...
Avoid Blunders And
Find Winning Tactics Even World Champions Miss!
GM Oleksiyenko's World Champions Blunder is a Chessable course with a unique, game-boosting twist.
Here's the problem with your run-of-the-mill tactics trainer:
Blundering and missing combos are the fastest way to lose games and rating points. But most books don't give you a user-friendly system for fixing these problems.
Worse, many of them simply repackage "classic" positions found in a dozen other titles.
Sure, readers become familiar with basic patterns and themes...but you need more than familiarity to achieve true tactical mastery.
That's why in World Champions Blunder, GM Oleksiyenko gives you his simple "tactics finder" algorithm. It's the same mental tool he uses to stay tactically alert during complex games and tough puzzle-solving sessions.
With it, you're ready to spot potential disasters and uncover winning shots...even in crazy-sharp positions.
PLUS, to drive his algorithm into your game, GM Oleksiyenko also serves you with 340 MoveTrainer exercises and 5.5 hours of video.
He mined the positions from the games of four World Champions - Wilhelm Steinitz, Emanuel Lasker, JosΓ© RaΓΊl Capablanca, and Alexander Alekhine.
But GM Oleksiyenko skipped their famous brilliancies that have been "done to death" already.
Instead, he picked their blunders and missed wins, which are often ignored by most training books...
Then asks you to play better than the World Champions.
This way, not only do you get the chance to "beat" the chess kings in their own game. You also get fresh examples, which show you how to:
π₯ Blow away "solid" passive moves that ignore tactical weaknesses
π₯ Refute thematic but unsound combinations with "cool as ice" defense
π₯ Bully misplaced enemy pieces till you gain a decisive material advantage
π₯ Knock the sails out of aggressive pawns and...
π₯ Pounce on the irreparable holes they leave behind
π₯ Stop vicious-looking attacks cold with perfectly timed exchanges
π₯ And many more!
Playing chess becomes a lot more fun when you have a simple system, which sidesteps heartbreaking blunders and uncovers point-clinching tactics game after game.

The Secret Ingredient
by Jan Markos & David Navara 2021
The Secret Ingredient is a grandmaster guide to maximizing your chess results, focusing on key elements of practical play which have received little to no attention in previous chess literature.
How exactly can we best make use of computers? Whatβs the ideal, step-by-step way to prepare against a specific opponent? How can we optimize our time management at the board? And whatβs the one key skill that separates the best players from those who have yet to reach their full potential? GM Jan Markos sheds light on these topics and many more, helped by the world-class insights of his good friend GM David Navara.
Jan Markos is a Slovakian grandmaster and trainer. His previous book, Under the Surface, was the English Chess Federationβs 2018 Book of the Year.

Leningrad Dutch - Grandmaster Repertoire by Mihail Marin 2021
The Dutch chess opening is renowned as a fighting weapon against 1.d4, as 1...f5 immediately sets up an unbalanced struggle. Then Black's kingside fianchetto, which defines the Leningrad Dutch, allows pawn-storming play in similar style to the King's Indian Defense. Mihail Marin is the ideal author to explain both the strategic ideas and the latest theory. Leningrad Dutch covers lines where White also fianchettoes the king's bishop β these lines are the critical test of the Leningrad. The companion volume, Dutch Sidelines, completes Black's Dutch repertoire.
