A breakthrough in the Russian telecom market — a domestic base station has successfully launched on Beeline's commercial network.

The station was developed entirely by the Russian company YADRO. The launch in the Leningrad region went smoothly — GSM voice calls, LTE with speeds of 50-60 Mbps, VoLTE, and call forwarding via CSFB are all functioning exceptionally well.

Happy Quality Communication Day!

The Chinese have released a truly indestructible smartphone — the OnePlus 15’s casing resists scratches, chips, and even cuts.

This is all thanks to a micro-arc oxidation technology — a clever electrochemical process that significantly enhances the strength of the metal. As a result, any damage to the casing can be wiped away like chalk from a blackboard.

Learning New Languages Slows Down Aging — a new study.

Researchers conducted the largest examination of this hypothesis involving 86,149 participants from 27 European countries aged between 51 and 90 years old. They calculated each participant's "cognitive age," which reflects the difference between a person's actual age and the condition of their body and mind.

The results were surprising: individuals who speak only one language "age" prematurely 2.11 times more often, while knowing at least one additional language slows down aging by 2.17 times more frequently.

The scale is progressive; each new language learned decreases the risk of developing age-related dementia:

- 2 foreign languages: 1.3 times lower risk of accelerated aging;
- 3 languages: 1.96 times lower;
- 4 or more languages: 1.56 times lower.

However, this effect diminishes with age: the fewer languages you know, the quicker the "protection" fades away.

Starting Monday, we're learning Chinese!

The creators of PUBG have announced a "voluntary resignation" program—the company aims to replace all employees... with AI.

Krafton has stated that it is becoming an AI-first company, meaning it is restructuring all processes so that key decisions, development, and tools are built around AI.

The irony is that, against this backdrop, the publisher has offered employees in Korea the option to resign voluntarily with compensation ranging from 6 to 36 months' salary, while hiring has been frozen for everyone except AI teams and developers of new intellectual properties.

Officially, Krafton refers to this as "helping employees determine their career paths in the age of AI." Unofficially, it appears that the company is cutting costs and replacing human workers with automation. All of this is happening while the company reports a record profit of 1.05 trillion won for the quarter.

Robots are indeed taking over jobs.

Russians Will Start Having Their Crypto Seized — the law has already been passed in its second reading.

Law enforcement will have the authority to arrest and seize cryptocurrency during criminal investigations: they can transfer funds from wallet to wallet or completely confiscate cold wallets.

Lawmakers believe this will help combat cybercrime and the illegal circulation of digital assets more effectively.

Crypto enthusiasts are on edge.

Microsoft has shut down illegal KMS activation for Windows — activating pirated versions of the OS will now become more difficult.

The company has discontinued a popular method of offline activation, KMS38, which manipulated the GatherOSstate file to make Windows appear "genuine" until January 19, 2038.

Hackers are warning that there are still two activation methods left, but you should not use them under any circumstances: HWID and TSforge.

Both methods are embedded in Microsoft Activation Scripts:

Turning Your Apartment into One Big MEME — with just one prompt, the new AI agent from Yandex Market can make any home a little funnier.

In the mobile app, simply open the tab with the orange icon. In the chat, write the following:

Curate a selection of meme-worthy items for the home: include the most popular and iconic images, characters, etc.

The AI will then send you several options. If needed, you can also ask the AI to suggest more amusing cringe-worthy decor ideas.

Nothing unusual—just humanoid robots and robotic puppies have arrived at the best Russian schools. The organizers of the International Industrial Development Olympiad, PROD, sent them to invite students to participate in the competition, which has gone global this year.

The robots communicate with Gen Z in their slang, calling the kids "bro" and "sigma," showing them a QR code for registration and referring to it as an "epic tattoo."

— "Bro, let's boost PROD!"
— "Isn't it cool that you only need the school curriculum in computer science to start in PROD?"

The chance of sitting at the same desk as a robot is extremely low, but it's never zero.

Now your dog can... turn on the kettle for you: the Dogosophy Button has been introduced in Britain — a large blue button that a dog can press with its paw or nose to activate household appliances.

It works simply: the button sends a signal to a receiver, to which you connect household devices like a kettle, lamp, fan, or anything else that plugs into a standard outlet. Developers from Open University say that this will enable companion dog breeds to assist their owners more effectively.

Training your furry friend to “make tea” is not difficult. You just need to reward the action, and gradually the dog will associate the button with the desired outcome.

The button costs £96 (about 10,000 rubles) and operates at a distance of up to 40 meters.

Scenes from Wallace and Gromit are closer than they seem.
