⠀A few final adjustments before getting
⠀ready to haunt The Haunted Mansion.
⠀I'll take the treats, but i might leave
⠀a few tricks of my own.
⠀Hopefully, everyone recognizes me,
⠀before i decide to look like someone else.

⠀What a night! Had such a great time being part of this year’s Halloween celebration. Big love to the whole team for all the hard work that went into making tonight happen, and to everyone who made the night even more fun.
⠀Glad i got to be part of it (and spend the night as a walking lump of clay). Until next time! 🎭 #SpookyMansion

A photobooth shot with The Kings! Apparently Mr. Clayface has to take a break from changing faces and make some memories. Had the best time with these guys. #SpookyMansion 👑🎭

Hands on cheeks, total shock, and terrifyingly perfect details, who knew getting cursed on Halloween could look this iconic?

⠀Shoutout to Kak Agus for last night! You and your team really made it all come together. I may have been a little too busy melting into clay and forgetting some of my missions, but i truly had a great time. 🎃👻

This marks the end of my Halloween temporary swap as Matt Hagen, a.k.a. Clayface. With that, i would also like to share a few thoughts about the movie. It feels like every month this year has brought us another great horror release, and this one was no exception.
⛔️ SPOILERS BELOW:
This is almost everything i wanted from a DC body-horror movie. It's grotesque, has some great jump scares, and follows Matt Hagen, a rising actor who's face is disfigured by a Gotham mob boss. With his career ruined and plastic surgery unable to fix the damage, he turns to an experimental treatment by Dr. Caitlyn Corr.
What i didn't expect was this take on a modern-day Clayface. In the 90s animated series, Matt Hagen used a cream to temporarily reshape his scarred face. While in this movie, it's AI-powered nanotechnology that regenerates his tissue, but malfunctions when he gets stressed or angry, changing his appearance drastically.
I thought this was the perfect route. People are increasingly using AI for inherently human things like art, friendships and even emotional support. The more things that AI takes over and produces, the more it all starts looking the same, becoming a blob of everything it's consumed. An emotionless imitation of something that once had a human behind it. That's exactly what Matt Hagen becomes. He can replicate someone's appearances, but not their humanity. In the final scene, you can feel something is off about Caitlyn's fiancé. Matt Hagen looks exactly like him, but he can't actually be him.
The body horror was my favourite part. Surprisingly, a lot was practical, with 18 different makeup looks made for Matt Hagen's transformation. The scene where Caitlyn sees him morph into her while he sleeps was insane, and i loved how well choreographed the club sequence was.
My one gripe is the runtime. I wish we'd had more time with the characters so some of those deaths and emotional moments hit harder. But i genuinely loved watching this. the colour grading is beautiful, and i couldn't be happier to see unique colour grading again. #Clayface 🎭
