Ramnavmi is celebrated on the birthday of Lord Shri Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Chitra according to the Hindu calendar. Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya(Utter Pradesh) as the first son of King Dashrath and Queen Kausalya. This *Ram avatar of Lord Vishnu was meant to kill the almighty Ravan*, destroy sins and maintain peace and prosperity on earth.
