Australia is supporting Cambodia to achieve its strong cashew sector potential and become a leading cashew exporter.
Through its flagship economic development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), Australia sponsored 10 Cambodian cashew producers to participate in the Cambodia-hosted 2024 World Cashew Conference.
Held in Siem Reap 1–3 February, the conference brought together more than 500 participants from 34 countries.
It provided a platform to connect producers with international processors, traders, exporters, investors and buyers. The conference also offered insights into new business models and best practices to enhance the value of the cashew supply chain.

Australia is supporting Cambodia to achieve its strong cashew sector potential and become a leading cashew exporter.
Through its flagship economic development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), Australia sponsored 10 Cambodian cashew producers to participate in the Cambodia-hosted 2024 World Cashew Conference.
Held in Siem Reap 1–3 February, the conference brought together more than 500 participants from 34 countries.
It provided a platform to connect producers with international processors, traders, exporters, investors and buyers. The conference also offered insights into new business models and best practices to enhance the value of the cashew supply chain.

Australia builds capacity of young water engineers for sustainable access to clean water
Australia’s flagship economic development program, the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), organised a study trip for engineers-in-training to a water treatment plant in Kampong Cham province.
The visit enabled 30 water and environmental engineering students and lecturers from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia to better understand the water supply chain.
The participants gained insights into the legal, technical and financial aspects of clean water distribution. They also discussed how water supply intersects with critical issues such as gender equality, disability and social inclusion and climate resilience to empower communities.
