Got fucking exams going on and here I am doomscrolling on X like an idiot. Stumbled on some dev flexing this tool called HatchZip.

Turns out this thing extracts archives while deleting the compressed chunks on the fly. Instantly hit me that our cheap ass VPS storage always gets fucked because 7zip hoards double the damn space to unpack shit.

Shoved it straight into Docker for testing. If this thing fucks up or fails on any weird archive, 7zip automatically takes over as backup anyway.
