Troma Chöd: Level 1
Walking the Path of Fierce Compassion
A One-Year Group Training in the Troma Nagmo Ngondro of the Dudjom Tersar Tradition
Starts Sunday, July 13th, 2025 on Zoom
Are you ready to enter the gate of the Troma Chöd path with dedication and clarity? This immersive one-year group program offers a structured and supportive introduction to the Troma Nagmo Ngondro, the preliminary practices of the Troma Nakmo cycle in the Dudjom Tersar tradition of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism.
This is not a casual dharma course. It’s a serious onboarding for practitioners who feel a karmic connection to Troma Nakmo, the Fierce Black Mother, and who are prepared to commit to her path of cutting through ego-clinging with radical compassion.
What the Program Includes:
Weekly 90-minute live sessions via Zoom
Short dharma talks to ground the practice in context
Peer support in small breakout rooms
Guided group practice using our in-house translation
A close reading of the Heart Essence of Saraha root text, through chapter 10
Optional one-on-one guidance for students making substantial progress in accumulation practice
Prerequisites:
Formal refuge in the Three Jewels
Previous experience with Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism
Familiarity with the purpose and structure of ngondro
A strong commitment to begin (or continue) Troma Ngondro practice on your own
Intention to receive the Troma Nakmo empowerment as soon as possible
The later chapters of the root text will be taught only in individual settings to students who demonstrate steady engagement and devotion.
If you feel the fierce call of the Great Mother, and are ready to step into her mandala, this program is a rare opportunity to begin your journey with guidance, structure, and sangha support.
Cost: Donation per class session attended. You decide how much is appropriate.

And Lama Zopa Rinpoche also said “Building a monastery collects incredible, vast amounts of merit, because it is a holy place containing Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The number of atoms making up the monastery’s temple is the same number of lifetimes that you will be born as a king in the deva or human realm, with all wealth and power. In recent years, with BDRC's support, Pentsok W. Rtsang has conducted in-depth research into classifying hundreds of Tibetan script styles, primarily using palaeographic analysis methods with high-resolution images of original manuscripts. As a result, his research can now offer a more comprehensive understanding of Tibetan scripts, providing a classification and systematic catalogue that links historical scripts to actual manuscripts.
In this talk, he will give a brief introduction to the creation, development, and evolution of Tibetan scripts, before focusing on Ume scripts — the most diverse and least understood of all Tibetan scripts.

Teachings on the Mume Dalpa
with Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche
July 20 - August 8, 2025 - Shenten Dargye Ling
Dear Dharma friends,
As every year, our three-week summer retreat invites you to deepen your Dzogchen practice in the Yungdrung Bön tradition. This year, the teachings will focus on the "Mume Dalpa" (rdzogs pa chen po mu med bdal pa'i rgyud), a fundamental text of Dzogchen literature that presents the essence of Buddha Tönpa Shenrab's teachings.
Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, abbot of Triten Norbutse Monastery in Nepal, honors us by guiding this retreat and elucidating this sacred tantra along with its traditional commentaries.
The Mume Dalpa Teachings
The "Mume Dalpa" explores the ultimate goal of spiritual teachings: attaining the pure and perfect state of mind known as Buddhahood, while working for the liberation of all sentient beings. During these three weeks, Rinpoche will present the meanings of this fundamental tantra and its traditional commentaries.
A Qualified Master
Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche is an accomplished scholar and devoted practitioner who dedicates his life to preserving and transmitting the authentic Bön tradition. Recognized for his work in preserving the original Tibetan culture and the Yungdrung Bön tradition, his approach combines spiritual depth with pedagogical clarity, making the subtle wisdom of these teachings accessible.
