The launching ceremony of the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges is held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi presented a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and delivered a keynote speech. Leaders from the Republic of the Congo, the African Union, and Ethiopia also addressed the event.

Rosatom will be the organizer of the first Quantum Technologies Forum of the BRICS countries, which will take place on April 14, 2026, in Moscow, on World Quantum Day. The event will be supported by Russian federal ministries and will bring together representatives of the government, the business sector and prominent scientists from the BRICS countries, as well as BRICS partner states.
The Forum will serve as a platform to discuss practical applications of quantum technologies and the launch of joint international projects — from computing and communications to cybersecurity and advanced IT solutions. One of the central focuses will be cooperation and the exchange of experiences between countries with different levels of technological development.
This dialogue format is expected to contribute to the formation of an integrated innovation space within the BRICS framework, accelerate the development of applied quantum solutions, and strengthen the group's role as one of the global hubs of technological growth.
