The Root Causes of Procrastination: What's Really Going On?
So, what's really going on? I'll keep this one short so that the little procrastinator inside of you can read it fully ๐Ÿ˜œ. What's happening in our brains when we procrastinate? What can we do about it, and how should we react?

For starters, there are many reasons why you procrastinate in the first place, but we're going to generalize a bit here. You see, our brains like the immediate chocolate for accomplishing a task much more than the one that will come later ๐Ÿซ.

Ultimately, this means that we like to do things for which we will get an immediate reward, rather than doing something for the long term. (That's why breaking goals into smaller chunks is helpful.)

But it can also be as simple as having experienced negative emotions while doing a task in the past, and not wanting to go through that again. So you find something to distract yourself instead of doing it, because you don't want to feel anxiety, frustration, stress, etc. ๐Ÿ˜ซ

So there you have it, friends. It's as simple as that. But it's not always like this for everyone; the reason for procrastination can be different for everyone. At least we can put it all under some criteria!

Deadlines can be a powerful way to take action and accomplish what you want, but be careful because it can also backfire!

Sometimes we procrastinate until the last minute, and then suddenly BOOM! We make it work and the result is even better ๐Ÿ“ˆ.

However, this isn't always the best strategy, as it can lead to stress and limited opportunities. So remember, use deadlines wiselyโณ.

๐Ÿ… Pomodoro Technique: a tomato timer to beat procrastination! Back in the 80s, Italian university student Francesco Cirillo used it to get things done in short bursts of 25 mins. ๐Ÿค“

If you struggle with procrastination, why not give it a try? Set a timer for 25 mins, work on a task, and take a 5-min break. Repeat until you're done! โฑ

When Good Enough Is Good Enough: The Art of Imperfection

Well, letโ€™s make it short, what does it mean "good enough"? ๐Ÿค” It means accepting a level of quality that is not perfectly perfect but good enough for the task youโ€™ve intended. ๐Ÿ’ช

Embracing this can be very good sometimes, cause it will not take away your heart and soul like a bad lover. โค๏ธ It will teach you how to let go of perfectionism. ๐Ÿ™Œ

It allows you to let go of pressure to achieve this imperfect perfection (cause we know that there is no such thing since itโ€™s different for everybody). ๐Ÿค—

Therefore, it will help you to not fall into pitfalls like "fear of failure", "perfectionism", "procrastination", "etc." ๐Ÿšซ
