Here is my argument:
“58 percent of Asian American test-takers and 31 percent of white test-takers scored a 1200 or higher on the SAT in 2022, according to the College Board, which runs the exam. For Hispanic and Black students, those numbers were 12 percent and 8 percent.”
Update:
If SAT is not enough, you just need to look at Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, HK, Singapore. All those countries prove that they can learn and invent quickly.

PMs are going to have a tough career

Airbnb eliminated (morphed its PM role into Product Marketing).
But, I do see this being a danger for the role as a whole.
- The onus will come on to Engineers + Designers
- PMs will become obsolete if their only function is owning roadmap
- Google originally started the PM function as an industry and those were Engineers first who owned Products end-to-end.
I would recommend sticking to a more IC / Dev / DevOps role in the future. This consolidation is not a good sign.

So my dad tells me he has fallen into some trouble/debts and wants me to lend him 100k so he can catch up on all his debts and payments he has.
I try to find out what it is and why he needs that much money, but he shuts it down and says that I should just blindly trust him as he raised me and I don’t need to know his business, like wtf.
I feel like I’m in a current situation where my dad still treats me like a kid, even though I’m a grown ass man, and I was raised in desi culture even though at this point in my life I have pretty much instilled American values in my personal life.
However, I still want to help my parents, but at the same time I feel like a 100k is way too much to give at this point in my life. I told my dad if I can give something on the lesser side, like 10 - 25k, but he is stuck on a 100k and consistently is guilt tripping me.
To provide clarity and be honest with my situation, my wife does not work right now as she was laid off, but has like 100k in savings but I will probably never touch her money. Just a respect thing.
I have about a 900k net worth all in cash through work, stocks, and other small investments, but that really is it. No money in brokerage or retirement accounts.
Am I wrong not to openly give my dad this money even though he said he needs it, or should I tell him I can’t and live with the after effects? Who do you believe is wrong here in this situation? If am greedy or selfish, you can openly tell me.

However, the emotional pain caused by infertility has taken a toll on my mental health. I have sought therapy, but certain triggers continue to affect me. Today, he became angry and expressed his frustration, stating that he is tired of hearing about it every day.
I have been experiencing deep depression, and his words have added to my distress. I patiently waited for years for him to feel ready for parenthood. Today, I feel as though I sacrificed my youth and made a significant mistake by being in this relationship. Life has been incredibly unfair.

Hello, I recently left Microsoft after less than 1.5 years. I was hoping to stay at Microsoft for at least 4-5 years, and possibly even longer if I could, but alas I was pushed out way before then. I've had a few positions before Microsoft at startup companies, all of which lasted less time than I spent at Microsoft. I know it's normal for employees to leave a startup at around 1 year, but I thought Microsoft would be different.
I'm wondering how is it possible that people can last at Microsoft or other big tech companies for 10, 20, even 30+ years? I had no desire to leave Microsoft but I was pushed out due to my manager threatening to lay me off because I worked remotely. I feel like every company is always trying to push me out at around 1 year, despite always being told I'm a "top performer". Even if those people just do what their manager says unwillingly, they always end up being promoted and enjoy their job, so I doubt they did anything against their own will or were being pushed out at any point.

As weeks went by, people (not just my team) have started literally ‘stopping by’ the office whenever they feel like.
Many of my team members, including myself show up around 10-10:30, go for lunch around 11:30, we play basketball/use gym from 1 to 2 and head home latest by 3pm.
What’s the point of RTO?
All we do is socialize, gossip, go for lunch, play and go for long walks/gym.

Europe also pays low TC but at least you can enjoy the culture and go around exploring Europe. European weather is also much better. The same can be said about some Asian cities like Singapore. Canada? A wasteland. Why does anyone ever move there?
