🏞 ISLAND OF THE ACHING HEART
One of the most stunning natural landmarks in the Primorsky region. The island is separated from the mainland by a shallow 30-meter strait. You can reach it by wading through the water or by boat from the sea side. Its shores are rocky, especially on the side facing the bay. Pools of water collect naturally in the rock formations, forming shallow “baths” that attract tourists.
In one of these pools lies a large, rounded stone. When pushed, the sound it makes hitting the bottom resembles the beating of a heart — and that’s how the island got its name.

🌋 KORYAKSKY VOLCANO (Koryakskaya Sopka)
One of the most majestic and iconic volcanoes of the peninsula, standing at 3,456 meters tall. It’s not just a natural wonder, but a true symbol of Kamchatka. On a clear day, Koryaksky towers dramatically behind the city — its silhouette dominates the skyline of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and can be clearly seen from the waterfront.

Admiring the new Yelizovo Airport on #Kamchatka!
It must be a delightful surprise for foreign tourists, bracing themselves for all the wild tales of Russia’s Far East. For a moment, they probably even forget about the whole bear encounter thing.
Yes, Italian architect Claudio Silvestrin — who designed the airport — has definitely left his mark on Kamchatka. And for that, we owe him thanks. For the minimalism, the raw textures, and those massive “dragon eggs” that look striking against the backdrop of volcanoes.
Some parts are still under construction, but by next summer, Yelizovo will be even more stunning.
