The former estate of Princess Maria Tenisheva is now home to the historical and architectural complex “Teremok.” At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the estate became a magnet for Russia’s artistic and intellectual elite. Patron of the arts Maria Tenisheva established an art center on the grounds, which later gained recognition not only in imperial Russia but across Europe.
Visitors to the complex can admire the intricately carved wooden terem, decorated with scenes inspired by Russian fairy tales, as well as the Church of the Holy Spirit — its interior painted by the famous artist Nicholas Roerich.

On August 2, a costumed paddleboarding festival will take place in St. Petersburg. SUP surfers will set off on a scenic route along the Moyka and Fontanka rivers, as well as the Kryukov Canal. The total length of the journey will be about 8 kilometers.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:45 AM near the Mikhailovsky Castle.

🏞 ISLAND OF THE ACHING HEART
One of the most stunning natural landmarks in the Primorsky region. The island is separated from the mainland by a shallow 30-meter strait. You can reach it by wading through the water or by boat from the sea side. Its shores are rocky, especially on the side facing the bay. Pools of water collect naturally in the rock formations, forming shallow “baths” that attract tourists.
In one of these pools lies a large, rounded stone. When pushed, the sound it makes hitting the bottom resembles the beating of a heart — and that’s how the island got its name.
