🦷 Protocol: Cementing Veneers (Lithium Disilicate)
The success of a veneer is not just in the ceramics, but in the clinical sequence. Sharing you my step by step:
1. Test & Fit ( Try-in )
• Dry Test: Evaluate marginal fit and settlement.
• Wet test: Use test cement (Try-in paste) to validate the final color with the actual substrate. Once approved, wash the veneer with plenty of water.
2. Preparation of Tooth (Subrate)
• Absolute Isolation: The Gold Standard.
• Recorded: 37% phosphoric acid (15s dentin / 30s varnish).
• Adhesive: Apply universal adhesive, evaporate very well the solvent with air.
3. Veneer Treatment ( Ceramic )
• Recorded: Fluorohydric acid for 20 seconds and wash.
• Decontamination: Apply Ivoclean (or 60s phosphorous acid) to remove salts and residues from the Try-in paste.
• Silanized: Monobond N for 60s and blow dry.
4. Cemented and Cured
• Settlement: Photo-cured and pressure controlled concrete.
• Cleaning: Remove excess with brush and floss.
• Glycerin: Apply glycerin gel in margins to avoid the layer inhibited by oxygen.
• Polimerización: 60s por cada cara.
5. Occlusal adjustment and final polishing.
⚠️ Remember: Try-in cement must be of the same brand as your definitive cement so that the result is predictable. Planning is the key!
