Bakr b. Abd-Allāh: “O son of Ādam if you wish to know the value of Allāh's blessings upon you then close your eyes.”

The Prayer Of A Disobedient Woman Is Not Accepted

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : اثنان لا تجاوز صلاتهما رءوسهما : عبد أبق من مواليه حتى يرجع إليهم ،و امرأة عصت زوجها حتى ترجع.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “There are two whose prayer does not go beyond their heads (i.e it is not accepted); a slave who runs away from his masters until he returns to them and a woman who disobeys her husband until she returns back (to obeying him).”

‎Luqmān عليه السلام said to his son: “O my son !! Do not delay repentance for indeed death can come suddenly.”

Remember Him

قال (موسى) : يا رب ! أي عبادك أتقى ؟ قال (الله) : الذي يذكر ولا ينسى..

(Mūsā) said: “O my Lord which of your slaves are the most pious?”

(Allāh) said: “The one who remembers (Me) and does not forget..”

‎Allāh said to Prophet Dāwūd عليه السلام: “Remember Me often and stay away from the trap of backbiting.”

‎ 'Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه said: “A man must be like a young boy (friendly and joyous) towards ‎⁦his family but when the call of duty is given, he is found responding like a man.”

al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said: “Joking too much takes away one's manhood.”

“Good manners are the head of the religion, it draws people to the religion of Allaah and encourages them.”

‎Imaam al-Awzā’ī رحمه الله said: “The one who takes the unusual opinions of the scholars, leaves Islām.”

May Allāh Make Us Among The Few

وسمع عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله تعالى عنه رجلا يقول : اللهم اجعلني من القليل ; فقال عمر : ما هذا الدعاء ؟ فقال الرجل : أردت قوله تعالى وقليل من عبادي الشكور . فقال عمر رضي الله عنه : كل الناس أعلم منك يا عمر.

‘Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, Allāh be pleased with him, heard a man saying: “O Allāh, make me among the few.”

‘Umar said, “What is this Du'ā (supplication)?”

So the man said: “I intend the saying of Allāh تعالى: 'And FEW of My SERVANTS are grateful’ • [al-Qur’ān 34:13]

So 'Umar said, “All of the people know better than you, O 'Umar!”

Ibn Taymiyyah: "If you fear Allāh, repent from your sins and seek His forgiveness, nobody can overpower you.”

Al-Hāfiẓ Ibn Hajr Al-'Asqalani said: "When a person sees that his companion is in a state of worry or sadness, it is encouraged for him to speak to him (his companion) with that which will remove his worry or sadness and make him feel good."

Habīb Ibn Abī Thābit رحمه الله said: "From the good character of a man is that he speaks to his companion while he is smiling."

Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Sāliḥ al-'Uthaymīn said: "From the means of protection from the trials and tribulations is (praying) the night prayer."

Sa'eed bin Jubayr said: "What was not known to the Badriyyoon (the Companions), then it is not from the Deen."

The Repentant Heart

‏سئل الفضيل عن قول الله عزوجل : {من خشي الرحمن بالغيب وجاء بقلب منيب} قال : المنيب الذي يذكر ذنبه في الخلوة فيستغفر منه.

Fuḍayl b. ‘Iyāḍ رحمه الله was asked about this Āyah: “Who feared the Most Beneficent (Allāh) in the Ghayb (unseen) and brought a heart turned in repentance (to Him).” • [al-Qur’ān 50:33]

He Raḥimahullāh said: “The heart which remembers its sin (committed) in private then seeks (Allāh’s) Forgiveness from it.”

‎Sufyān Ibn 'Uyaynah said: “Whoever prays 5 times a day has thanked Allāh and whoever supplicates in them for his parents then he has thanked them."

Ibn Mas'ood رضي الله عنه said: Whoever loves Qur’ān then glad-tiding (to him).

‎● [تفسير سعيد بن منصور فضائل  ٣]
Sh. Ibn 'Uthaymeen: “28 different Companions narrated the Ḥadeeth that Allāh Descends to sky at night, Ahlus-Sunnah agreed upon it.” 

‎Sh. Ibn 'Uthaymeen: “Allāh Himself descends to the sky at night, not His Command or Mercy or angel as people of distortion claim.”
