At the core of our app icon system is a universal grid that considered a multitude of icons silhouettes.

This flexible grid, along with a set of lightweight guidelines, allowed designers across the company to contribute brand new icons to the system, evolving the aesthetic over time while retaining a familiarity to the overall family of symbols.

For us, relying on flexible guidelines, as opposed to rigid rules is what has allowed our family of icons to grow and evolve in surprising and delightful ways.
