BcmA’s limited exhibition ‘Switched ON’ illuminates the gallery from the 10th of November, exploring the sculptural beauty of lamps and light sources.
Like moths, we as humans have a natural gravitation towards light. The exhibited installations, by various artists, bring a sense of warmth and togetherness in times of segmentation and increased polarisation.
We are open until the 19th of November, Thurs./Fri. from 16h-20h and Sat. from 12h-17h.

I curate an Open Call together with the wonderful artists Karina Villavicencio. This time the focus is on performance art and how it could interconnect with the algorithms. Algorithms and AI had been already part of my studies back in the nineties, learning about its evolution since the 1950s. Back then studying Computer Science and waiting several minutes for simple algorithms to train neuronal networks for image recognition first ideas raised about how this would impact our future. Hardware performance has increased since then and lately with the integration of easy usable interfaces AI is accessible for everyone.
The exhibition, "City Shapers," will grace BcmA on June 12th 2023. This space will showcase the remarkable individuals who passionately shape the Berlin city through their art and music projects. By contemplating what truly shapes a city, these artists invite visitors to reflect on the profound impact of creative public work. Through their diverse perspectives, they explore how art and music in public spaces foster community engagement, cultural expression, and social cohesion. Discover the transformative power of art, as it leaves an indelible mark on the city's identity and inspires all who encounter it.

For the 6th year in a row, it’s our absolute pleasure to invite you once again to the Klein aber Fein Pop-Up Store – Illustration Edition 2024!
What began as a small experiment years ago has become a cherished staple in the neighborhood. Klein aber Fein isn’t just a space where craft, art, and design meet; it’s a place to find sustainable, unique holiday gifts. Here, we tell the stories behind each piece, making shopping a personal experience that stays with you.
This year, we’re excited to focus on art and illustration. In collaboration with BCMA (Berlin con mucho arte), we’re welcoming illustrators and artists to turn the Pop-Up Store into a creative space filled with inspiration and joy. Sustainability and responsible consumption remain our foundation.
The opening is on Saturday, 23rd November, 6-10pm
From Sunday, November 24, until December 9, our doors are open for you.

Out of Mind: Presence, Flesh, and the Posthuman Condition
Open Call for Performances: MindAIness 2026
We invite performance artists, technologists, and collectives to apply to the fourth edition of MindAIness, an independent performance art event at the intersection of mindfulness and artificial intelligence.
This is not a showcase for technological spectacle. It is a space for critical intervention and a platform for discourse. As AI systems increasingly externalize cognition, predicting, generating, and deciding, a fundamental question emerges:
What happens to presence when intelligence migrates outside the flesh?
A Shift in Where the Mind Lives
We are entering a moment where memory, intuition, and even creativity are being displaced into machines. Systems begin to “know” us, sometimes better than we know ourselves. They are slowly take over our important decisions.
But the body remains.
It breathes. It hesitates. It resists. It tames.
MindAIness fourth edition explores this tension: between presence and abstraction, between flesh and virtuality, between lived experience and computed knowledge.
In a time where intelligence is increasingly abstracted, optimized, and scaled,
WE ask:
What remains irreducibly human? What cannot be outsourced? What does it feel like to still have a body?
