☄ The exact cause is Unknown ..Intestinal metaplasia is more common in people who have chronic acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Some doctors think bacteria called H. pylori causes this change in the digestive tract.
☄ the biggest concern for those with intestinal metaplasia is that it might be precancerous ..
