In an ongoing attempt of the Russian regime to totally annihilate Ukraine the war is waged on multiple fronts:

1. There’s military aggression with the bombing of cities, hundreds of civilian lives lost and millions being deprived of normal lives.
2. There’s an information war of the scale haven’t seen before, powered by the Internet, social media and cyber warfare.
3. There’s economic warfare, ever balancing on the verge of not crippling own economies in this tightly connected world.

We know that NATO doesn’t want to #closethesky, avoiding a looming threat of more countries being involved (aka World War 3) and nuclear holocaust being the reasons. Retrospectively, the retention strategy of deferring confrontation with Russia and allowing the beast to bite off gradually bigger chunks just made it stronger and nastier, amplifying its ambitions to rebuild the Soviet Union with an ever-growing sense of impunity and intolerance.

It might be a pivotal moment to ask ourselves if there’s a line on how far would we accept it to be pushed on us. But NATO military non-involvement is the fact now, so I strongly believe that striking back on the economic front is a very important and urgent thing to pursue. If the beast has built a powerful military armour enforced with an aura of propaganda over two decades, strike the legs with all the might we have and do it fast. And yes, there are concerns that this will hit “simple common people”, but if you look at the official numbers (which admittedly might be skewed), 68% of respondents in Russia supported “military operation” when it started. That's a whopping number considering the 140M+ population. And while not being able to get a new iPhone or going to a basic food basket is bad, it can’t be compared to your home being destroyed by Grad, family stranded by different sides of the border with almost no belongings or nuclear plant in the vicinity being shelled. Economies can be repaired later, human lives cannot.

It’s not just a war between two fundamentally incompatible systems, democracy and totalitarianism, modern network-based society and centrally managed one, freedom of speech and total oppression. It’s a war that will define modern Europe and the world landscape for many decades to come. And should Kyiv fall, I don't think it's Europe many of you would have wanted to live in.

Many companies have already chosen to cease their business relationships with Russia to flush the citizens to the hard truth of war, so if you’re a decision-maker and you’re still on the neutral side — think if there is a neutral side at all. Act now and cut the business ties with Russia to #stopthewarinukraine.
