Dua to ward off the deception of the Obstinate Shaytans.

Protecting Himself from the Shayaateen.

Ja’far bin Sulaymaan ad-Duba’ee narrated: Aboo at-Tayyaaj narrated to us, he said: “I said to ‘Abdur-Rahmaan bin Khanbash at-Tameemee – and he was an old man – ‘did you reach the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم (during his lifetime)?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘So I said: How did the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم act on the night the shayaateen plotted against him?’ So he said: ‘Indeed the shayaateen descended that night upon the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم from the valleys and mountain paths, and amongst them was a shaytaan, in his hand was a flame of fire, wanting to burn the face of Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم with it. So Jibreel – عليه السلام – descended to him and said: ‘O Muhammad! Say:

What is said to ward off the deception of the Obstinate Shaytaans.

Transliteration:

‘A’oodhu bikalimaatil-laahit-taammaatil-latee laa yujaawizuhunna barrun wa laa faajirun
min sharri maa khalaqa,wa bara’a wa dhara’a,
wa min sharri maa yanzilu minas-samaa’i,
wa min sharri maa ya’ruju feehaa,
wa min sharri maa dhara’a fil-ardhi,
wa min sharri maa yakhruju minhaa,
wa min sharri fitanil-layli wannahaari,
wa min sharri kulli taariqin ‘illaa taariqan yatruqu bikhayrin yaa Rahmaan.

Translation:

(( I seek refuge by the complete, perfect words of Allaah, which no righteous one nor wicked one can exceed, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of what descends from the heavens, and from the evil of what ascends to them, and from the evil of what is sown in the earth and is created, and from the evil of what comes out from it, and from the evil of the fitan of the night and the day, and from the evil of everyone who comes knocking, except for the one who comes knocking with khayr, O Rahmaan! ))

So it (this du’aa) extinguished their fire, and Allaah تبارك و تعالى defeated them.” [2]

[2] Traced to as-Suyootee in al-Jaami’ al-Kabeer (1/11/2) to Ahmad, and at-Tabaraanee in al-Kabeer, and Ibnus-Sunnee in ‘Amalul-Yawmi wal-Laylah from ‘Abdur-Rahmaan bin Khanbash, and from Ahmad (3/319), and Ibnus-Sunnee (631) from Ja’far bin Sulaymaan ad-Duba’ee from Aboo at-Tayyaaj. Al-Albaanee said: “And the isnaad is saheeh, its men up to Ibn Khanbash are on the condition of Muslim…” See As-Saheehah (#840).
The Prophet ﷺ said, “There is no supplication that a person can say that is better than:

‘O Allaah! I ask You for al-Mu’aafaah* in this world and the Hereafter.’” *(‘Mu’aafaah is for Allaah to suffice you against needing the people, and sufficing the people of having need of you. See Tuhfatul-Ahwadhi, 3512.)

Allaahumma inni as’alukal-Mu’aafaah fid-Dunyaa wal-Aakhirah

* Special Powerful Du’aa Of Abu Bakr Al-Sidheeque (May Allah Be Pleased With Him) Seeking Allah’s Forgiveness

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I requested the Messenger of Allah (swalla-Allaahu alayhi wa-sallam) to teach me a supplication which I could recite in my Salat (prayer). Thereupon he said,

"Recite:

[Allahumma innee zhalamtu nafsee zhulman katheeran, wa-laa yaghfiru al-dhdhunooba illaa Anta, faghfir lee maghfiratan min `indika, warhamnee, innaka Anta al-Ghafoor al-Raheem]

[Meaning: (O Allah! I have considerably wronged myself. There is none to forgive the sins but You. So grant me pardon and have mercy on me. You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Compassionate).'''

🌺 Recite this frequently in your supplications:

👉 Anas رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝Recite frequently:
يا ذا الجلال والإكرام
“Yaa Dhal-Jalaali wal-Ikraam!
(O (Allaah), Possessor of Glory and Honor).❞

📚[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (3524, 3525) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. See al-Saheehah (1536)]

🌴🌴🌴

📑 Meaning: ❝Increase your saying: “Yaa Dhal-Jalaali wal-Ikraam” in your supplications, make it binding upon you, hold on to it, and recite it frequently and persistently.❞

A Tremendous Dua For Protection Against The Evil Eye:

Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) mentions in his tafsir that once Jibril (‘alayhis salam) came to visit the prophet ﷺ and saw that he was very upset. Jibril (‘alayhis salam) asked the prophet ﷺ why he was upset and he replied that Hassan and Husayn (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) have been afflicted with evil eye. Jibril (‘alayhis salam) said, ‘It is true that people can be affected by the evil eye. Why did you not give them relief by saying these words?’ the prophet ﷺ asked, ‘What are those words?’ Jibril (‘alayhis salam) replied, say the following words:

Allahumma dhas Sultanil ‘Azeem wal Mannil Qadim thal Wajhil Karim waliyyal Kalimatit Tammati wad da’watil mustajabati ‘afil (Hasan) wal (Husayn) min anfusil Jinn wa a’yunil ins

Note: Change names as mentioned in above dua to the names of those who dua is made for.

As soon as the prophet ﷺ recited this du’a, Hassan and Husayn (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) got up and started playing in front of the prophet ﷺ. The prophet ﷺ then said, “Protect your lives, your wives and your children with this du’a. There is no other du’a for protection better than this du’a.”

This narration is recorded in a Hadith Juz’ (collection) of Hafiz Khaythamah ibn Sulayman and Tarikh Dimashq. (Min Hadithi Khaythamah ibn Sulayman, pg. 204, Tarikh Dimashq, vol. 24 pg. 461. Also see: Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Surah Al Qalam, Verse: 51, vol.7 pg. 361)
Sometimes we know what is right, but we don’t have the strength to do it. And sometimes we know what is right, and we do it, but we don’t have the strength to continue to do it.

This following Prophetic Dua deals with these two matters:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الثَّبَاتَ فِي الأَمْرِ وَالْعَزِيمَةِ عَلَى الرُّشْدِ

Allahumma inni as'aluka at-thabbuta fi al-amr wal-'azimata 'alar-rushdi

O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all my affairs, and determination in following the right path.
(Sunan An-Nasai 1304).
The follower and successor of the Companions Abul-‘Āliyah [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him] said:

“The most abundant supplication I heard ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb [may Allāh be pleased with him] recite was:

اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنَا وَاعْفُ عَنَّا

Allāhumma ‘Aafinaa wa‘fu ‘Annaa

‘O’ Allāh, grant us well-being and pardon us.’”

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate, saying:

« رَبِّ أَعِنِّي وَلاَ تُعِنْ عَلَىَّ وَانْصُرْنِي وَلاَ تَنْصُرْ عَلَىَّ وَامْكُرْ لِي وَلاَ تَمْكُرْ عَلَىَّ وَاهْدِنِي وَيَسِّرِ الْهُدَى لِي وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَىَّ

"My Lord, aid me and do not aid against me, and grant me victory and do not grant victory over me, plot for me and do not plot against me, guide me and facilitate guidance for me, grant me victory over those who transgress against me.

(Rabbi taqabbal tawbati, waghsil hawbati, wa ajib da'wati wa thab-bit hujjati, wa saddid lisani wahdi qalbi, waslul sakhimata sadri)

‘If only you had said when the evening approached: –

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allaah from the evil of what He has created –

A’outhu bikalimatil-lahi ‘at-tammati min sharri ma khalaqa

Nothing would have harmed you.’

[Collected by Malik, Muslim, Abu Daawood, Nisaee’ Ibn Majah and by Tirmidhi who made it Hasan. Al-Albani authenticated it in ‘Saheeh Targheeb wa Tarheeb’ vol.1 no. 652 p.412.]

Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn al-Qayyim (d.751A.H.)-Rahimullaah- said after quoting this hadeeth:

‘Know, that divine natural medicines benefit against disease after having been afflicted with it, and they prevent the disease from occurring. If it does occur then it does not occur in a harmful way even though the disease is annoying.

Indeed natural medicines also benefit after having been afflicted with a disease. So, At-Ta’aweedhat (supplications for seeking refuge) and Adhkaar (remembrance of Allaah) either prevent the occurrence of these means, or they either come between the disease and between the complete effect of it, and that is according to the perfection of the Ta’aweedh (supplication for seeking refuge) and according to the strength of it and the weakness of it. So Ruqiya (remedy by recitation of invocations) and ‘Aweedah (a supplication for seeking refuge) is used to preserve ones health, and the disappearance of sickness.’

.Whoever says, “Astaghfirullah al-lathi laa ilaha illa huwa, al-Hayyul Qayyum wa atubu ilayh” –

‘I ask forgiveness from Allah the One whom there is no deity worthy of worship except He, the Ever-Living and Sustainer and I repent to Him’ three times, Allah would forgive his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.

‘I take refuge within Allaah’s perfect words which no righteous or unrighteous person can transgress, from all the evil that He has created, made and originated. [I take refuge] from the evil that descends from the sky and the evil that rises up to it. [I take refuge] from the evil that is spread on earth and the evil that springs from her, and I take refuge from the evil of the tribulations of night and day, and the evil of one who visits at night except the one who brings good, O Merciful One.’

Say: [this dua] , So it (this du’aa) extinguished their fire, and Allaah تبارك و تعالى defeated them.”
