Exploding stars send out powerful bursts of energy − I'm leading a citizen scientist project to classify and learn about these bright flashes
Swift is a multiwavelength space telescope that scientists are using to find out more about these mysterious gamma-ray flashes from the universe.
Swift, a multiwavelength space telescope, has observed over 1,600 such bursts, helping measure distances to these objects and providing insights into the universe's history. Gamma rays are a form of light with high energy, which can damage human tissues and DNA, but Earth's atmosphere blocks most of them. The most distant gamma-ray burst observed occurred 13 billion years ago. A citizen scientist project is underway to classify and learn about these bursts.

Private space-junk probe snaps historic photo of discarded rocket in orbit
The ADRAS-J mission, which stands for "Active Debris Removal by Astroscale-Japan", is a major accomplishment in space debris removal. It's the first ever mission to successfully rendezvous and capture an image of a piece of space junk using a proximity operation.
