Thanks a lot to all the donors and people involved in this first year of existence of SoliSoli. Thanks to your support, we could collect a total of CHF 9’252.- ❤
All of the donations were recently transferred to the two associations KlikAktiv in Serbia and ComPass 071 in Bosnia and Herzegovina — each of them receiving 50% of the money collected. More information about KlikAktiv and ComPass 071 can be read on our website.

We would also like to thank the people behind the collective Soli Druck in Zurich. They create beautiful handmade silkscreen t-shirts, bags and postcards to support people on the move — the t-shirts and bags are all upcycling from second hand shops. The collected money is sent to SoliSoli to then reach Western Balkans. You can get your own creation at the Āto Automat at Dynamo Zurich. Check their Instagram.
Thank you as well to the artist duo Stirnimann – Stojanovic and their project “What if the walls were more flexible”. They aimed at bringing the audience to reflect on borders and taking action by acquiring a part of the artwork at free pricing. All the money collected was then sent to SoliSoli.
This year, we could also collect many walking crutches all around Zurich and even received a wheelchair. We sent everything to Belgrade where the association KlikAktiv distributed them to injured people of the move in different camps.
Dear friends,
Some of you already know us, some do not yet. But before everything let us thank you all for your generous support through the last two years.
We are Solisoli, an association from Zurich, supporting KlikAktiv from Belgrade and Kompas 071 from Sarajevo. They are our friends and two local organizations working tirelessly to provide warm space, blankets, tents, walking sticks, legal and psychological, as well as other forms of support, such as emotional and care work to people on the move.
At a time when many are falling into the precariat, losing some of their civil, social, economic, or political rights and consequently from citizens becoming denizens in their own home countries, we urgently call upon you to support those who have already lost their sense of home, citizenship, security - people on the move on the Balkan route which has become increasingly challenging.
In addition to the razor-wire fences in two rows more than 5 meters high, Frontex and rabid police officers who brutally beat people on the move and unleash trained dogs on them, Viktor Orban has created a new level of "migrant hunters" who acquire law enforcement, legal shooting, tactical border surveillance and border traffic control skills to carry out their duties of guarding the EU border.
In this endless “Game” (attempt to cross border), people are exposed to harsh border regimes designed by the EU and adopted by the Western Balkans in order to qualify for the conditions of EU membership, such as the situation currently happening in both Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
The actual agreement between Serbia and Frontex is already very controversial, particularly the point which states that Frontex's staff bears no criminal accountability for their actions, meaning that they would not be put on trial in Serbia regardless of how serious of an offense they might have committed.
The EU is developing a new program which will cover both voluntary and non-voluntary returns from the Western Balkan countries to the countries of origin. Frontex will also provide support in forced returns to the Western Balkan countries.
Considering that throughout 2022, the majority of people on the move in the Western Balkan (more than 70%) came from Afghanistan and Syria – countries with decades long armed conflict and in dire humanitarian situations – one must but be seriously concerned about the risks these people will face in the future.
Urgency for supporting KlikAktiv from Belgrade and Kompass from Sarajevo is more than evident. Additionally, your donation can contribute to the ongoing advocacy efforts to hold Frontex accountable and create a more just and compassionate world for all.
We need civil liberties to be respected independently of ethical, racial, religion, or philosophical beliefs of people on the move. Therefore freedom to move, knowing that one will be welcomed in faraway lands, freedom to disobey orders, without consequences, and freedom to reorganize social structures is what we are fighting for.
Thank you very much.

We will come together to celebrate the abandoned plans of KIBAG through the Masterplan of the city. Over a warm dinner we want to talk about the past and exchange ideas about the next steps. We want to find common perspectives against gentrification and organize and connect locally against housing shortage. A platform for struggles against gentrification and a common preparation for the demo on November 4th.
SoliSoli will cook dinner, there will be short inputs from Linkes Seeufer Für Alle and different groups, and afterwards music.
Come to celebrate, get to know each other, exchange and organize! We are looking forward to it!
