फतह (कामयाबी) और नुसरत (मदद) का मदार (आधार) अल्लाह की मरज़ी पर चलने में है।

एक मौलवी साहिब के सवाल के जवाब में फ़रमाया कि फ़तह और नुसरत (कामयाबी और मदद) का मदार (आधार) क़िल्लत और कसरत (कमी बेशी) पर नहीं होता, वह चीज़ ही और है। मुसलमानों को सिर्फ़ उसी एक चीज़ का ख़्याल रखना चाहिए यानी ख़ुदा तआला की रज़ा (ख़ुशी), फिर काम में लग जाना चाहिए। अगर कामयाब हों तो शुक्र करें, नाकामयाब हों तो सब्र करें।
और मोमिन तो कभी हक़ीक़त में नाकामयाब होता ही नहीं, चाहे सूरतन (शक्ल) में नाकाम हो जाए, क्योंकि आख़िरत का अजर (सवाब) तो हर वक़्त हासिल है जो हर मुसलमान का मक़सूद (उद्देश्य) है।

हज़रत ख़ालिद रज़ी अल्लाहु अन्हु ने साठ हज़ार के मुक़ाबले के लिए तीन आदमी तय किए थे। हज़रत अबू उबैदा रज़ी अल्लाहु अन्हु ने फ़रमाया कि उम्मत-ए-मुहम्मदिया को हलाक (ख़त्म) कराओगे तब साठ आदमी तय किए यानी एक हज़ार के मुक़ाबले में एक आदमी। क़िल्लत और कसरत (कमी बेनी) की तरफ उन हज़रात का कोई ख़्याल न था।

Victory and help depend on following the will of Allah.

In response to a question from a cleric, he said:

Victory and help do not depend on majority and minority; they depend on something else entirely. Muslims should only keep one thing in mind: the pleasure of Allah, and then they should get to work. If they succeed, they should be grateful; if they fail, they should be patient. A true believer is never really unsuccessful, even if it appears so outwardly, because the reward of the Hereafter is always there, which is the ultimate goal of every Muslim.

Hazrat Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) had proposed three men against sixty thousand. Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) remarked: if you are trying to destroy the Ummah of Muhammad, then he proposed sixty men, meaning one man against a thousand. They did not consider the importance of numbers.

तनाउम (ऐश) में अक्सर हुदूद (सीमाएं) महफूज़ नहीं रहते

एक सिलसिला गुफ़्तगू में फ़रमाया कि तनाउम और तअय्युश (ऐश व सुख चैन) का अकसरी ख़ास्सा (विषेश गुण) है कि हुदूद (सीमाएं) महफूज़ नहीं रहते। हाँ अगर तनाउम (सुख चैन) के साथ दीन हो और किसी कामिल की सोहबत (संगत) मुयस्सर आ गई हो तब तो हुदूद (सीमाओं) का ख़याल रहता है। इस लिए कि इस से हर चीज़ को ए'तिदाल (बराबरी) के साथ क़ल्ब में रसूख (पक्का) हो जाता है।

पीर भाईयों की मोहब्बत की अजीब मिसाल

एक सिलसिले गुफ़्तगू में फ़रमाया कि भाईयों में आपस में ज़्यादा मोहब्बत होना चाहिए इस लिए कि मोहब्बत का मदार (आधार) है बे-ग़रज़ी (निस्वार्थ) पर और बे-ग़रज़ी इस तरीक़ (तसव्वुफ) वालों में आला दर्जे की होती है। और यह सब होता है असर (प्रभाव) शैख़ का, क्योंकि वह असल है।

और इसके साथ वाबस्तगी (संबंध और लगाव) की ऐसी मिसाल है जैसे जड़ और शाख़ो में तआल्लुक़ (संबंध) होता है।

असल रोब अज़मत से होता है।

एक साहिब के सवाल के जवाब में फरमाया कि असल रोब वह है जो अज़मत से हो और महज़ गुस्सा से जो रोब होता है वो रोब नहीं वहशत (डर) है। इसमें यह ख़याल होता है कि कहीं यह नुक़सान न पहुंचा दें और अज़मत के साथ जो रोब होता है उसमें एक महबूबाना शान होती है दिलकशी होती है हत्ता कि इसके गुस्से की भी ये कैफ़ियत होती है:

तुम को आता है प्यार पे गुस्सा
हम को गुस्से पर प्यार आता है

हज़रत मौलाना गंगोही की ख़ुदा दाद हैबत की यह हालत थी कि अगर ख़ुद कलाम (बात) में इब्तिदा (शुरुआत) फरमाते तो दूसरों की हिम्मत कलाम (बात) करने की हो जाती थी वरना बड़े बड़े वैसे वापस हो जाते थे और कहते थे कि हिम्मत नहीं हुई कलाम करने की। यह ख़ुदा दाद बात होती है। यह बातें बनाये नहीं बनतीं, सब ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से है और असल यह है कि रोब और हैबत में क्या रखा है बंदा बन कर रहना चाहिए, ख़्वाह रोब हो या न हो फ़िरऔन बन कर नहीं रहना चाहिए अगरचे उससे रोब ही हो।

The True Awe Comes from Greatness

In response to a question from a gentleman, he stated:

True awe is the one that comes from greatness, and the awe that comes merely from anger is not awe but fear. In such a case, the thought is that the person might cause harm.

However, the awe that accompanies greatness has a captivating charm, so much so that even their anger is characterized as:

You get angry at love,
I fall in love with your anger.

Such was the state of the God-given awe of Hazrat Maulana Gangohi that if he himself initiated a conversation, others would gain the courage to speak; otherwise, even the prominent ones would leave without speaking and would say that they did not have the courage to speak. This is a divine gift. These traits cannot be fabricated; everything is from Allah. The essence is that there is no value in mere awe and dread; one should live humbly, whether or not they inspire awe. One should not live like a tyrant, even if it inspires awe.

एक साहब के क़ल्ब (दिल) और दिमाग़ माऊफ़ (विकृत) होने का शक

एक साहब की तवील तहरीर (लम्बा ख़त) आई जिसमें अपने क़ल्बी हालात और कैफ़ियत लिखी थी जिससे शक क़ल्ब (दिल) और दिमाग़ के माऊफ़ (ख़राब) होने का होता था। उस पर हज़रत वाला ने जवाब में तहरीर फ़रमाया (लिखा) कि पहले अपनी नब्ज़ और क़ारूरा (पेशाब) किसी तबीब (डाक्टर) को दिखला दो, अगर वह देख कर कह दे बल्कि लिख दे कि तुम्हारा क़ल्ब (दिल) और दिमाग़ सलीम (ठीक) है तो फिर अपने हालात लिखो। जब जवाब मिलेगा।

इस पर फ़रमाया कि वह इन कैफ़ियात (हालात) से समझे होंगे कि विलायत मिल गई। कभी दिमाग़ की या क़ल्ब की ख़राबी से भी ऐसी कैफ़ियत पैदा हो जाती हैं। यह सब बातें तजुर्बा पर मौक़ूफ़ (आधारित) हैं।

Suspicion of a Gentleman’s Heart and Mind Being Affected

A gentleman sent a lengthy letter describing his heart's conditions and state, which raised suspicion that his heart and mind might be affected.
In response, Hazrat Thanvi wrote that he should first show his pulse and urine to a physician, and if the physician sees and certifies that his heart and mind are healthy, then he should write about his conditions again. A reply will be given once it is confirmed.

Hazrat Thanvi further stated that he might have thought that he had attained spiritual status due to those states. Sometimes, such conditions also arise due to disturbances in the brain or heart. All these matters depend on experience.

जी लगने का इंतजार अबस (बेकार) है

एक साहब के सवाल के जवाब में फ़रमाया कि काम ज़रूरी हैं, इनको करना चाहिए ख़्वाह (चाहे) जी लगे या न लगे।
यह तो हालत ही बुरी है कि जी लगने का इंतज़ार किया जाए। क्या अपने जी की परस्तिश (पूजा) करते हो, अपने जी के बंदे हो।
