My mom confused asexuality with non-binary.
Basically, my mom told my dad that I’m non-binary (I’m not) because she doesn’t understand the difference between that and being ace. And I’m not ready to come out as ace to my dad yet, so I just kinda went with it as best as I could while also clarifying I’m not non-binary, I just hate my body.
But either way, so not cool of her to out me at all considering I told her not to mention it to my dad specifically.

Horrible "Representation"
I hope I picked the right tag? I'm not being aphobic, the show I'm gonna talk about is though.
Okay I just wanna rant about this. House M.D. was one of my favorite shows, and I was watching an episode today. There was a patient that was said to be asexual and in an asexual relationship with her partner. The producers decided to have the husband suffer from a brain tumor that caused his asexuality and that the wife was just silently complying the whole time and wasn't actually asexual. The entire plotline turned into the doctors "fixing" them and ridiculing the ace community, as well as being extremely aphobic. Disgusting.

Why are my 2 asexual friends having sex?
I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I mean nothing harmful by this post, and I am trying to learn more about the asexual community.
So, my 2 asexual friends are dating each other. I know that they have sex because I can hear their bed squeak (a lot) when I visit my other friend in his dorm. (We all go to the same college.) I do not understand why they are having sex if they are both asexual.
I did some googling and I am hearing that sexual attraction is different from sexual desire. Asexuals experience no sexual attraction, but they may have sexual desire. Is this correct? I think I’m just not understanding how sexual attraction and desire are 2 different things. Could someone explain to me how/why they are different?

I know this sounds crazy but hear me out. I have actually reproduced asexually
Hi there, I am a (24 m) aro/ace. This may sound like a joke but I am being completely serious... I know there is a lot of misinformation going around out there about our reproductive habits, and I was hoping to clear up some confusion.
The common idea that we reproduce asexually, in most cases, is obviously completely false, and in poor taste. It is usually incredibly hateful and insulting, and should be ignored.
The truth is I am an identical twin. In my case, the fertilized egg randomly split in two early on in the pregnancy resulting in 2 very real babies with the same exact DNA. Me and my brother are real the result of asexual reproduction LOL I hope this clears up some confusion for you all :)

Coworker today asked if I was a virgin
Honestly today has been triggering enough. Like this woman is weird and just up and bought up if I had a boyfriend and if I was a virgin. So inappropriate! I told her I don't disclose such info at work let alone a coworker wtf! Then she kept going on about how it's okay to be a virgin if you are....like wtf I don't want to talk about that. I'm just feeling so sick and disgusted.

Did anyone else get this Lecture from their parent(s)?
So, I'm a closeted Asexual and everytime I talk to my Mom about life and most commonly sex education she always brings up "Sex is a part of the building blocks of life"
Imo I don't really believe that, we can live without sex, it is possible, we only really need sex (speaking on a base level) to continue the survival of our species.
But have any of you had that lecture before or am I the only one?

As an Asexual male, I have an easier time relating to females than I do most other males.
I wouldn't consider myself trans—I don't identify as a female or like to think of myself as a female, but females always made way more sense to me than fellow males. I have an easier time feeling a sense of belonging with them, and, especially when compared with males, they seem like kindred spirits.
I think part of that is that men are more traditionally promiscuous and sexually-driven and I have always felt isolated and confused by them because of it.
This is not a problem, just something I wanted to share.

About to go to my first in-person class at university this semester, and I’m wearing this ace pride mask I bought! It’s my first time wearing pride stuff in public. I’m not sure if I’m hoping someone will acknowledge it or if I’m hoping they won’t.
